May I know how is d security of the school given the rather complex environment with the car mart, flatted factories nearby. Also how is the traffic condition there?

School security is tight. Parents cannot walk into the school compound as and when they desire. This includes to ex-students as well I heard.

Symphonic band is the pride of MBS. They have consistently done very well in national/ international competitions. Eg. they just attained Distinction for 2014 SYF. But in 2012, they had Gold with honours (under the old ranking system) and only 3 schools have that award for symphonic band. This is like the 9? consecutive Gold/ Gold with honours awards they have gotten in the last 10+ years. MBS band is highly regarded and was invited to play at Navy open house in 2013 (1st primary band to be invited), Istana in 2013, etc... and I heard from my niece who is familar with bands (she is much older and non MBS) that MBS band can potentially play better than secondary schools. So that probably tells alot about the standard.

Choir did well in SYF this year bagging a distinction as well. I personally thought CCA selection in MBS is quite good. They also have wushu, lion dance, malay dance, chinese dance, robotics, chinese orchestral, sports, etc....

Would like to find out from parents how do you find the school under the new principal's leadership thus far? Any major changes? The school's website never seems to get updated.... :roll:

Oh yes! Let start! Just to share something as a parent's concern. My girl is in P3. Her firar el p1- compo was done on 11 Mar n only beginning of this wk the 1st draft was retuened to prepare for 2nd draft. And only this wk then prepared to do 2nd compo writing. I am worried my girl was absent as she is having chicken pox n only return to school next tuesday. How my girl is going to sit for her paper 1 next wednesday. OMG!

Here we are told by Minister of MOE or some minister that tuition is not required.??? School principal, is it normal to just do two compo n the student is ready for SA 1?

The compo thingy seems is the trend in this school. My p4 girl, only did one compo before SA 1. Teacher is spending curriculum time marking the paper… and left the student in the class room to do their own things. This happening after LC and before main paper. Think the school have to tighten certain rules. …when I hear this, I speechless. …

Thank you for sharing. Then the FT must have treated my girl as a P4 girl cos she only did once. The second one she submitted during her two wks, chicken pox mc but have not received till date.

I still prefer the more senior (older) ones. They are more responsible and delicated.
