Interested ? http://www.hongwen.sg/uploadfile/department//Blossom.pdf -
The drawings depicting the HW students are so cute
Thanks for the heads up. -
Hi sahm tan,
Lol not at all. Thanks for trying to help. I know many parents concerned about that too
I will eventually get there I guess haha congrats on finally deciding on the school. Being undecided is least fun! Can I know on what basis u made your final decision? Did u have to PV more than one school?
I'm aware that HWS phase 2C little hope so I'm open to PV there. But can't visit leh. Haha my girl only 3yo :boogie: i try submit PV le kena turned away. SCGS I Was from there so I know the environment already, and don't need PV. In fact we qualify for earlier phase for SCGS. I shudder to think what if forfeit phase 2A for scgs then PV hws already and don't get in! :yikes:
Lionheart: cannot visit school compounds but we did scout the perimeter. Haha like some spy. I pm u later -

Hi dimension,
I applied PV to a number of shortlisted schools on my list because I was not sure which school would acccpet me
Let me just state that in general I do not believe one school is better than another. It boils now to the leadership of the P, the teachers' passion, school culture, student population and parents commitment. Environment + P&teachers + students + parents = school.
After the numerous submission it was down to 3 choices A, B and HW, the order is in sequence of encounter with the respective schools.
A contacted me first but I did not get through the PV balloting phase
B contacted me for interview and then HW contacted me to let me know that I was accepted for PV. I had to decide between B and HW becos I did not have time to PV for 2 schools.
It was a struggle and in the end like I posted, I followed my gut feel.
My gut usually is right even for enrichment centres, kindy :rotflmao:
For your case, if you PV at HW and when it's time for your P1 registration, depending on your decision, this is what you can do as a strategy.
Register at SC during P2A2, then monitor the situation at HW during P2B. If situation is safe, then you can let go of SC and register at HW , if that is your decision. If there's balloting for the distance category under you, at HW, and you do not wish to risk then you still have SC. JMHO
All the best. -
Hi sahm tan
Can we do that?? I thought Only one phase at a time? -
dimension:
If you register for SC, then later wish to register at HW when you judge there's no risk, you have to withdraw from SC first then you can register at HW. This yr, I think there was 2 days for registration for P2B. So a parent can wait till 2nd day afternoon to register after finding out as much current information as possible from the school.Hi sahm tan

2 things to keep in mind, the timing for registration, this year the cut off time was 4.30pm. 2nd thing, once you withdraw from SC, if you change your mind, you have to wait till P2C. -
Hi dimension,
If you like to see only the school interior, can go at around school finish timing. The guard might ask you and you can say going to general office. Probably you can only walk around level one, canteen area, field and playground. This might not help much in seeing how classes are conducted. -
Hi dimension, hahaβ¦we were from same school. But I only got boys, so cannot consider sc.

One thing also to consider, sc offers full school, the cutoff points are lower for sec school entry. For many that would have been reason enough. But very true, distance can be daunting. Now DS can sleep till 630am each morning. -
thanks all for your valuable input
