Good to have you here....Helping--Hand:
So which are the better class? You will know every school there will be some better class & weaker class.
-
Based on what I have heard from other parents, the better classes have quite many kids in their class, and there seems to be a lot of homework. So the stress is there. And that the weaker kids are actually put into smaller classes, therefore there will be more attention given to such.
So from what I can see, maybe weaker kids will get the better deal. Though all parents wish for their kids to do well. But Iโm happy that this is not a school where the weaker ones are ignored/pushed aside in favour of the stronger kids. -

I supposed you are referring to 2011's P6 classes.:thankyou:

Weaker Classes-----------------------Better Classes
6C2 6C1 6H 6K 6P 6R
But next year will be 6L leading due to the best class in 2011's P5 batch is 5L.
I supposed that every 2 years the Alphabet of the best class will change. For the primary 1s to 4s, there are no specific alphabet for the best and weakest class. I am not an expert here, should ask the school if you are confused by me. -
HelpingโHand,
Iโm curious, how do the students know which are the better classes? Were you told by your FT when you were still studying there? -
hquek:
Yes, (from better class 6_)I had a bit more homework than the other classes excluding 6C1&2 as they are in another stream i think. But just a bit----like some more Practice papers, my science teacher gave us practice papers which her previous 2008 class which couldn't finish up the assignments in time.Based on what I have heard from other parents, the better classes have quite many kids in their class, and there seems to be a lot of homework. :celebrate: Cheers -
I'm trying to master the kung fu of not caring which class my DD1 will end up in. I'm trying to just focus on her and her progress. Hope I can master it before she hits P5

SAHM_TAN:
Ohh great~There was no Q&A session during orientation.
Will there be a dialog or orientation day for parents? So that I can ask my burning questions?
Innovation & Improvement Project for P6s... How i wish i have wrote that. :imcool:
Dear Parents, if you wished to have a place where you could suggest things or ask queries to the school. I would like you all to email the school to have a <<Suggest Box for Parents>> & <<Queries from Parents>> @ Hongwen website. Look at the following link: http://www.hongwen.moe.edu.sg/studentshub/studentshub_suggestion.html
If you want something like that for the parents, you may speak to the school about it. Furthermore, it won't cost a lot (i think even not spending anything!) and you could ask questions and suggest things throughout your child's six years of studying in school VIA website!
So SAHM_TAN you won't need an orientation day for parents (LOL  )
Just some thoughts from ME. ~ :please: -

hi sahm_tan,
I think for P1, there is no strongest/weakest class. The kids seem to be evenly spread out. P1s will stay with their classmates in P2 (same teachers also). Itโs only SA2 for P2 then you should get excited.
