There will be 2 sessions yearly for feedback.

      1. P1 PTM in jan/feb
      2. p1 Tea with Principal in July

You can write directly to school for response. Or you can join our monthly PSG meeting to have the feedback channelled to Principal.

Thanks. I was planning to ask about the new Chinese exam format in the 2017 PSLE.

I'm planning to buy Chinese assessment books and was wondering is the school going to start preparing them in P1 or later. This will affect the type of assessment books that I buy

Wow. Can't help you on this one. By 2014 both DS would have graduated from Hong Wen.

Based on what I have heard from other parents, the better classes have quite many kids in their class, and there seems to be a lot of homework. So the stress is there. And that the weaker kids are actually put into smaller classes, therefore there will be more attention given to such.

So from what I can see, maybe weaker kids will get the better deal. Though all parents wish for their kids to do well. But I'm happy that this is not a school where the weaker ones are ignored/pushed aside in favour of the stronger kids.
Agree with Hquek too. Seems like the weaker kids get a better deal:) The better class has more homework and their stress-level are higher too, also more auto-pilot required by the student; Teacher tend to be more demanding for Top classes while Weaker-Class Teachers are more caring and 'NICER\". Agree with the school approach; i find it fair.

          hi sahm_tan,

I think for P1, there is no strongest/weakest class. The kids seem to be evenly spread out. P1s will stay with their classmates in P2 (same teachers also). It's only SA2 for P2 then you should get excited.

As far as i understand, streaming in P1 had been outlawed by MOE. Agreed with Hquek. No such thing of strongest/weakest class.

          :rotflmao:

          so cute, outlawed :rotflmao:

          anyway, I'm not concerned about P1 😄

Eh.... How did you know i used in lower primary? :boogie:

              BINGO :rahrah:
My bus was like the SBS' double decker height or should i say the size of a bus to malaysia?
But there's a lot of different sizes for buses @ HWS. There is even a van size.

I had never seen my previous bus uncle since i was primary 4 when school has moved to current location. But i remembered that he give us food like chips during celebration and always tell jokes. He is a cheerful one. 😄
Every bus uncle are different. But mostly will be entertaining, sometimes we can't aviod some fierocious as they can't stand our volume(noisy).
The bus service fees are like .... urmm... let me recall for a while...
 Ta--da~ $80--$120 morning and afternoon (when you are dismissed)
Any queries? I think i will not give too much because it might be different from previous. :slapshead:
Thanks for sharing, Still trying to decide if I want to use the school bus.

Hi helping hand, until how old did you take school bus? do you stay nearby school? i am wondering how long do i need to get school bus service.

Hi sahm tan, during orientation i paid for school bus at $60 per month and also must pay december holiday so total $120. The driver and helper very good, showed DS where to wait and paste a sticker with bus number on the name tag. This is for identification and make sure the student don’t get lost. For days with cca, just top up $1.50 for special pick up from bus driver.

Sorry to provide the wrong infomation for the current fees but the fees were about $80 last time.
Maybe some parents go and bargin to order not to :moneyflies: ?
I don't understand why you need to pay Dec Holiday... 🤷
Sahm Tan, i lived @ Mcnair Road last time (now moved.. :D) when i was P1 so needed bus to Victoria Street Hong Wen School. Stopped bus service when P4. Where did you live at? (eg. boon keng, kovan...etc.)
                    :please:

On the issue of going to the toilet for lower primary kids. Does the teacher make sure 2 kids go to the toilet together?
