I don’t have my faith in my kids where show and tell is concerned. They are quite shy about speaking in public (okay, at least in front of me they are this way).

I think at the end of the day, it won’t matter THAT much; still will be the paper exam that is the BIG thing. Just that I’m still smarting from the shock of yet another show and tell.

psst, ds still hasn’t memorized it yet. I’ll wait to see him sweat when it’s time for him to present. kekekekeke

          simsl_sg,

According to the P1 Holistic Assessment Plan, Speaking and Presentation constitute 15% and show-and-tell is one of the items. The other item is Hear-Me-Out!

So I guess there will be an impact, just a matter of
degree, depending on your ds’ performance in other areas of assessment.

              simsl_sg,

It’s good that his tr has been coaching him. I’m sure with your support and the extra help from the external S&D class, he will improve. Just have to give him time and chance. As lionheart shared there will be variation of presentation throughout the different levels, so cannot give up. Must try, try and try.

                Young Mum:
What I understand was that along the way to school, the school bus broke down & the students were told to make their own way to school. Some took cab & train, but some walk. Yes, true, it shows the independence of the kids on one hand, but on the other hand, how about the safety of the students?? There are student as young as P1, do you think they are capable of travelling on their own? If so, why take school bus in the 1st place right?

Do they have their ez-link with them? For some, I think no, that's why they choose to walk...... early in the morning, crossing major roads & traffic junction...... I cannot imagine.....
We got the response from school

They had done rounds of investigations with students and bus operators.

                In summary

                1. School states that In the case of the breakdown of a school bus, the driver should inform the school and the bus operator,  gather all children at a safe place and wait for a replacement.

                2. Bus operator approach to the incident was wrong.

                3. School is also upset with the incident.

                4. School met Bus Operator and re-emphasized the importance bus operator assuring students safety in all circumstances

                5. Bus operator will take neccessary measure to prevent similar incident.

                6. Thanks to all concerns parents' feedback.

                7. Also appreciation to parents whom have assisted in the situation. E.g. Parent ferried pupils to school when he saw these students trying to walk to school which was 20-30mins away.

                        Hi

Would like to check with the rest of the parents out there, if I am not able to go to the school for the parent-teacher’s meeting next Friday, will I still be able to collect the report book? If so, when can collect?

                        Thanks
