no la. it’s really 顺路. dun see me so up.

On the part about letting kids pursue their dreams. At this time, when I’m still sane and this is not a problem I’m facing, I may let them be to the extent my pocket can take it. Over that limit, my kids will have to earn for their dreams. Too bad their parents last name not start with Gates or Zuckerberg (forgot how to spell).

I would think the prize would be sweeter if they had to fight for it (eg scholarship), or earn it; as opposed to me paying the bills. I hope I wont have to work like mad for them to have an easy life.

Wow today our thread so active :rotflmao:

        lionheart,

Most important is the will to let them pursue. If the kids are good there will be scholarship even if parents do not have deep pockets
I am stating facts.. scholarship can only help when you are academic.. but not for others..

Sad truth, i knew talented sport boys whom had to quit because their parent couldn't fund them.. also passionate parents sold their properties to help their children to fulfil their dreams..

In fact it is matter of choice.. but when you found unpolished gems among your children.. you would understand what i meant.. :).

oh oh. another tip. Last popular sale at expo, I bought an old edition of one of Mr Sun's book at 90% off, and also some other parenting books (also 90% off). If you are keen, and if there still are such books, I can buy at the sale (starting tomorrow). Books on me. Sound very generous but frankly each book less than $1.50.
Grab as much as you can.. :). i will share the tab. 🙂

My job is not to ensure they have an easy life. Or else I wouldn't have quit

interestingly .. only 3 of us are concerned about DSA.. so it seems many are non DSA-route believers.

hello, so interesting to know abt DSA through this thread. I'm not against the route of DSA but ideally i hope dd can get into a sec sch of her choice/capability instead of CCA. I shall wait and see her GEP outcome this yr.

DSA has 2 routes, via CCA (could be sports or aesthetic) or academic.

Btw, a friend teacher told me about impressive folios the kids come up with, and the rehearsed response. To get in these days not easy. Cannot imagine few more years from now…

That’s the thing abt going via academics, still need to

participate in various competitions and must get gold, platinum, distinction and whatnot.

If don’t need to attend competition , it might be an experience to just try try LOL

GEP season coming soon for the P3s. Wonder on average every yr how many students leave HW.
