Best to wait for the letter about P1 briefing for confirmation. I'm not sure if there are any changes this year 😄

My limited understanding of LSP is that during lesson time, the LSP teacher will go around the various classrooms herding the little sheep. This is conducted during curriculum time.

Stretch program on the other hand takes place outside of curriculum time - kids will have to stay back for this. This year (P2) then I hear of Stretch and nothing on LSP (assuming that this is still continued).

But have to qualify that my kid doesn’t attend either program and the above is based on what my kid tells me.

For P1, yes, there is no exam but there are bite sized assessments and also marks awarded for other stuff like show & tell. I was amazed that they can show me his results into 2 decimal percentage points when there is no exam.

Anyway, there is no streaming from P1 to P2, just enjoy the ride for that year. When SA2 starts in P2, then the 'fun' will begin. 😛

Understand from my DD's teacher, Stretch has 2 ends, 1 for those good (not best) to get better and 1 for those no good to get better too.

My understanding from attending the last P tea-session is that STRETCH is for students who failed, so that they will improved and for those who are academically strong, so that well they can be stretched. So the prog is for the top dunno what % and those who failed. That's my understanding 😄

I didn’t drink tea, but based on what I heard, it’s for those who didn’t do well but could do better on one end, and for those very good ones.

Sorry, but just think it sounds very complicated. I wonder how to cater for both ends of the spectrum.

Can cater to both ends lah. Different classes, different teachers and different students mah. One class focus to improve another class focus on getting them good to better to best  :rotflmao:
