I find Hong Wen is one of the schools that follow the general guidelines, for timing of applying for PV according to birth yr of child, set by MOE. There are schools that closed the dateline so much earlier, even a yr earlier than the stated guidelines which I think is not fair to parents who read the guidelines stated by MOE and apporach the school at the appropriate time according to their child’s brith yr.

          hi SAHM_TAN,

me also wanna follow the guideline, the std route to do PV but me is working full time 😢 . whatever leaves are for emergency/ kids use.... n dh gotta travel yah. so me left with ltd time n leave to do PV. All pri schools are 1-2km... dont have within 1km one lor... so me gotta request HW whether allow to have longer period to fulfil the 40hrs. Even the PV nd 1hr me still gotta take 1/2 leave. I dont drive and nd to travel by public transport fm wk pl to HW (i.e sbs to mrt approx 2.5hr hor- 2 ways)...

so really hope able to have \"fast leg fast hand\" to grab those can clock in long hr events one - outings, excursions, kinda of. Then my leave will be worth lor...

I remember that such emails tend to be sent out in the afternoons. Then got to fill up a spreadsheet in google.

Tip for you: I used my co email as the basic communication. So at work I can see it immediately once its sent out. And if you can, put in more than 1 email address so that the 'view' chance is higher.

                Hi Reiner,

Pls don't be mistaken I was not judging ur actions. I'm just fed-up with some schools that think all parents are seasoned and know that each school are able to set their time-table regarding the closing for PV applications.

Actually for SAHM, the world of opportunity is there - I think they do need pvs to read to the children every week, and also to supervise children in swimming (no clue which pool they bring the kids to).

oops... SAHM_Tan... my post isnt to reply to your earlier posting nah... just feel that FTWM needs longer period to fulfil the PV hrs mah...

let me do the sum: 14annual leave + 6 days childcare leave = 20 days... everytime take 1/2 day to do PV and every 1/2day can clock in only 1hr... so there goes my 20days leave lor to make up that 40hr PV... and gotta pray hard hard, no emergency request 🙏 from kids too...

if still have leave to bring over will be great but whatif really use up? aiya forgotten to ask whether can 2 parents to clock in 40hr or not?

can bo? then at least dh shall be the back up yo...

know that SAHM is not easy too, is like working 25hrs per day yo... wonder how come parent(s) is able to fork out time to do PV?

if me is working nearby HW, me will do that too... save lots of leave n time for travel...
