Perhaps parents could feedback to the school to have the bookshop have enough books to cater to the needs. the bookshop would know beforehand the number of students being enrolled so would be able to estimate beforehand the number of books they should stock right…like this it is very confusing for a parent and a poor 7year old:(

SS - Social Studies...
Is the timetable given today? Coz I dun see any in my DS bag? What paper size & colour is the timetable? Thks... -
Normally, timetable is issued anyday within the 1st week. It will be smaller than the sch organiser/ diary, so that they can paste/ staple it into their sch diary. But there are occasions where teachers ask students to copy the timetable into their diary. And it’s white.

The handbook aka pupil's diary. Itz in the booklist. Itz a spiral notebook abt a5 size. I prepaid for it during orientation as told by the bkshop staff. In tis case, they will pass it directly to the students.
Hi, what handbook is that? I don't recall paying for anything during orientation. Is the handbook in the book list? Or could u post a pic of the handbook? TIA.terry:
Dun forget to buy the books tt were unavailable during orientation. I just got \"my pals are here\" HOMEWORK bks Maths 1a & 1b.
The handbook which parents ordered and paid during orientation will be given to the students together with the stellar package in class. This i chk with the bkshop ppl.
Parents who din order it can get it frm the bkshop.
Any additional info is most welcm, as i find the info given by sch is v disorganised n incomplete. -

Yup, I did... But I realised some parents didn't... That's the problem with the Orientation Booklet... The list of books to bring was not properly bulleted and is inconsistent in writing style... (E.g. Some has the words \"bk\" behind, some with the word \"bk\" pushed to the next row... And in the case of \"Stellar Handwriting\"... which is a book but didn't have the word \"bk\" added behind \"Stellar Handwriting\".. Hence, creating the confusion that some parents thought \"Stellar Handwriting Portfolio\" means 1 item... when it refers to 2 items \"Stellar Handwriting Book\" and \"Student Portfolio\" (The big white file)...Thanks for your reply,

Best part? The big white file does not have the word \"Portfolio\" on it... The only time it tells u the white file is the Student portfolio is from the pink book order list given by the bookstore... Hence, u need to do some \"detective work\" to piece information together...
Also, I felt that the orientation booklet is \"recycled\" and only updated in bits & pieces without an annual thorough review... E.g. There were several parents who were confused with the Maths Workbook to bring on Day 1... It says Part 1 & Part 2 for Workbook 1A on the booklet... when there is only a single 1A workbook... Only when the pink book orderlist has the words \"NEW\" slapped on every Maths books dat one can safely assume that the change was not reflected on the orientation booklet... (Again, some detective work)
And lastly, don't get me started on the acronyms! It's an orientation booklet meant for parents and new parents alike... The school should not assume that every single parent knows every single acronyms...
Good effort on the school part to come up with an orientation booklet but it mars its intended purpose when done in such a shoddy manner...
I beginning to see why my friends who has older kids in Ngee Ann Pri kept highlighting to me that the school has poor administration.... -

Yes, I agree. The orientation booklet wasn't clear, and the acronyms baffled some parents.Crystal_2911:

I am not sure if I’m the only parent who feels that the school dismissal time of 1.45pm is late and affects the kids’ lunchtime. Does anyone knows if the children are allowed to take dry snacks such as biscuits or bread in class, at about 12+pm? I heard from a friend that her DD’s school allows that as their dismissal time is about the same as NAPS.
