Hi and thanks! Sorry I have not dropped by to read your reply.Hello 1amber / all, my girl is in 1B (@ tiggerdan: same class as your boy!).
Just to share her short experience of day 1: she started the day looking forward to the rest of the day, with a new school bag and pocket money to buy her own food. Upon reaching school, a bigger primary one kid brought her up to the school hall. She had a primary 2 buddy during recess time, she bought fish balls and seemed to enjoy herself - didn't start to socialize with new friends though. Yes that's right 2 stalls were closed, it seemed that the selection of food is not a lot. She brought a 500 ml water bottle, and by the end of the day, she said it's not enough. Now I have to find a bigger bottle, or pack some milo / juices for recess time. I think the adjustment went pretty okay so far (she knows where the toilet is, the public phone, the general office and importantly feels comfortable with the teacher), she is looking forward for day 2.
Btw, I ordered name tags to be sewn on the uniform - does anyone know if this will be distributed soon by the teacher, or do I have to collect this from somewhere?
Also, I noted there are 25 reading books for primary 1 for the whole year - anyone here care to exchange books for their reading? That way it's easier to find the books instead of looking up in the library / shops
Anyone staying @ OneAmber? -
Hi parents!
My P2 nephew in another school has been loaded so with much homework daily. English and Chinese spelling in sentences every week. Not my cup of tea. I’m thinking looking for a school where my kid can balance between work and play. Thanks -
Hi parents, out of curiosity, is there top 2 or 3 classes in P3 ? Does this school offer GEP programme ? Thanks
-
There’s always top 2 or 3 classes in every school.
If I recall, students take the GEP test in P3.
Those selected will have the option to be transferred to schools with GEP. -
Hi kiasubeng
Thanks for the info… -
Hi parents here,
I have a son who is pretty slow in learning and very short attention span. I wonder if TKPS will be too fast pace for him.
Any parents have similar experience to share with me? -
Hi J2mum
My gal is also slow in learning. I’m considering to put her in TKPS or Geylang Methodist Pri. Although Kong Hwa is the nearest to my place but have decided to give it a miss as I dont think my gal can take that kind of stress. Which other schools are u looking at? Your boy will be P1 next year? -
hi, can i know how is TKPS compared to Haig Girls primary? I am contemplating between these 2 schools for my daughter.
However, Haig Girl’s is nearer to my place (less than 1km) whereas TKPS is within 1 to 2km from my place.
What is my chances of getting to TKPS if it is around 2km from my place?
My daughter will be registering for p1 next year.
Thank you. -

my place is also within 2km to tkps. we will be under phase 2c, unless u are a PV, then u will be in phase 2b & 2c. personally i think both schools seems ok but i would prefer a cohort school, moreover i hv another younger boy.
actually i’m a PV in kong hwa but hv decided to give it amiss as i think it will be too stress for my gal esp she’s slow in learning.
