Can any parents with kids in Primary 2 this year who has gone through the introductory swimming lessons provide some feedback?

Need to buy swimming cap and goggles?
Need to take note of anything special?
      Timing? Weather?

My DD is a total non-swimmer. Need to prepare her beforehand?

Thanks in advance for any advice! 😄
      Hi

      Sorry for the late reply

Although my girl is not going to start on school swimming (She attends swimming privately)
My thoughts - (Hope it helps) swimming cap and goggles is a necessity.
She must not be frightened of water as in frightened to jump in, etc....
You bring her to swimming pool right?? She must be used to the \"cold\" water, most important have FUN!!!!

      Hope this helps!!
      Cheers

Is it right for teachers to ask parents to enroll their kids for extra tuition?

We were told to do so by my child’s chinese language teacher when we attended the sports day a few months back. This came as a shock to us, cos not too long ago some minister stressed that there is no need to sent our children for tuition. How conflicting is this!

Had a conversation with my child today and was utterly disappointed to know that the Chinese language teacher had handed back their class worksheet with all the practice pages not done. The teacher mentioned that only the top 2 classes of their standard (classes 2.1/ 2.2) needed to do them. I seriously don’t understand the logic behind this. Does weaker classes / students have to be forsaken so the school can concentrate on the better/smarter ones. What happened to the level playing field policy that the gov have been driving at?

There were also occasions where the whole class just need to copy the answers from the white board and some lessons were mere watching of animated movies like Mulan and etc. How can we expect our children to do well (and I mean not excel) in their CL when the teacher does not even show some effort herself?

                Disappointed parent.

Nowadays it is with more parents effort than teachers teaching, I guess.

Parents efforts in finding extra classes, sending children to it, coaching them in it.......

                  🤷

Next year is a whole new year, your child will get a new teacher, hopefully it’s for the best??

Also, don’t give up, "Jia You" and your child will benefit from your efforts.

                      Cheers
                      Peace to all
