        Nax,

Hv not tried out the Chinese website yet. Is it very tough? DD is eager to try out but I don’t hv the time to do it with her. Probably do it with her on Friday or Saturday.

I find it's quite hard... the concept is abit like bomberman that kind of game.. you have to push the words to the correct \"holes\".. and not forgetting there's a monster chasing after you :yikes:

I feel like I am CEO of DD.

Everyday there will be something to sign from school

Not that I mind the sight of the worksheets, exercise, etc but seriously signing everything is like…

I remember my days of schooling, parents only sign on test papers and report books… Hm…

Must get used to it, I guess

              cfan,

I feel the same way too, but I think it’s good so that we parents are updated of the progress of our child. We can also help them out on the questions that they don’t understand. I think it helps in bonding too.

I think the school find that working together with parents will help the child to improve. I hv read in the forum, the schools in China does that and the parents are very involved in the child’s education.

Actually, I preferred it this way. It’s better than our time.

Actually so far am quite ok and pleased with the teachers and the allotment of work given. Hopefully DD will be able to manage and enjoy her years of primary education at school.

I always tell her:\"We work hard together? OK??\"

                Ha Ha 😄

My kid is going to P1 next year and Fernvale PS is the nearest to my place within 1Km …

I’d like to gather some honest opinions about Fernvale PS from the daddies and & mommies here.

                  - Is the school principal and teachers committed & passionate?
                  - Is the school very result orientated? Or just quite an average neighbourhood school?
                  - Does the school gives many test/spelling/homework/afterschool activities?
                  - What are the strengths and weaknesses of this school?
                  - How was the PSLE results for the past few year?

                  can somebody enlightenend me? Tks!!!

                    Hi

Cos my DD is in P1 this year, I am still at the \"discovery\" phase?

Is the school principal and teachers committed & passionate?
Not too sure, but the talks held at school so far have given me a good impression of the staff there.

                    - Is the school very result orientated? Or just quite an average neighbourhood school?
No idea as need to see how DD progress

                    - Does the school gives many test/spelling/homework/afterschool activities?
From the looks of the assessment and exercises there are adequate work given, she has English and Chinese spelling every week, homework so far is not so frequent, there is homework but she always managed to get it done by herself before I'm back to check so it seems quite manageable.

                    - What are the strengths and weaknesses of this school?
                    Yet to see for myself

                    - How was the PSLE results for the past few year?
                    To be monitored....

Hope the above helps, the main reason why I registered her there is due to distance.

                    Cheers,
                    😄

                      Hi parents,

just to enquire. Is it confirmed that students from Fernvale Primary 1 can study HCL. Thought only SAP schools offers such option and non-SAP schools can offer HCL from p5 onwards?
The system seems to be changing alot till very blur.

                      TIA

                        Hi

My girl in now in P1.

So far there's no other info about whether they have Higher Chinese??
                        :scratchhead:

Anyway they did had a maths workshop for us parents whose kids are in P1 and I found it helpful to a certain extent.

Appreciate that the teachers are organising this and sharing information with parents.

It's a Thumbs Up to them!!
