Thanks for both of your reply, at least i have a better idea of the student care. Will consider to put my girl in there, coz currently she is taken care by my new maid, find my girl not very discipline at home and always play with the maid. By the way, you send your child to the centre at 7am or later. Heard from the teacher there that the kids have to shower there at 8 am, which i find it too early. You also give your child shower there so early? Thank you!

I jz chk w my son; they usually shower before having bfast. Here's the timetable:
7 - 8.30 circle time
8.30 - 9 bfast
9 - 9.30 spelling
9.30 - 11 mon (English tuition), tue (Chinese tuition), wed (spelling revision), thur (math tuition), fri (outdoor)
11 - 12 lunch
12 onwards prepare for sch

Talking about the Chinese show & tell, 3 minutes is indeed very long. I came up with 1 script describing 5 people in the family and i realise i am done in 2 minutes. Think need to drag the time by bringing in some tools!

I hv not started on the speech, hahaha... No inspiration to write it so simple & long enough for DS to rem

Btw,DS mentioned tt there's a dental checkup these 2 days.

How's everyone coping with teaching your children han yu pin yin? Yesterday taught DD till almost want to vomit blood. She kept mixing the u & w and i & y.... I wonder how's her spelling today.

I find it quite good. They go thru the kids' spelling together and they ar very discipline with reagrds to manners and how they wear the NCPS uniform. I am very happy with the centre.

My son attended P1 prep class on chinese with HYPY when he's in K2. I'm glad I did that as now I have an easier time as he is well verse with it already. I encourage parents to do that as your kid will be more confident with it when he enters P1. For NCPS, the 10-day Dec course is not sufficient for them to pick up.

For 'w' & 'u', 'y' & 'i', it has to do with Sheng1 Mu3 and Yun4 Mu3. Also need to teach them the technique where to put the sound '- / v \\'. I also spent a lot of time coaching last yr until he acquire the basic knowledge about HYPY. I know it's going to be a crash course when enters P1 and I am not taking chances.

I also headache, how to come up with 3-min speech on such a straightforward topic. Even if I can cook up a long story, dun think my son can remember the entire script. He may just mess it up during the assessment. Should feedback that 3-min is too long for a start.

I agree with Suaku_mum and b2b3m4 about Polaris. That's exactly the reasons why I sent my son there. My main obj is for him to learn to be more independent and well disciplined. It's a bonus that they provide assessments as well as spelling revision. I am also impressed with their friendliness and patience in answering my many questions.

then choose under STUDENT LMS. : kEY IN ID under your child NRIC Number and password also under your child NRIC Number .
