Being in the first and competitive class, we fought over 1 or 2 marks in science papers. We argued with teachers and HOD.

Think back, we were childish and naïve. May be I grew older.
Thanks for chipping in, octoberbaby 😄 ! Wow, so competitive, eh? For high achievers, it is in the blood. Believe it or not, given a chance to do it again, you might just repeat history. 😆 🦆

yah, we are not the uneducated aunties, we dun make "market complaint" .

Sch leaders who sweep dirt under carpet cannot survive long in leadership .
Anyway, top leader chg every 6 yrs , 2nd leader can chg between 2 to 7yrs ,all
depends on MOE directions and luck ( for sch).

Hope the good feng shui turn to us now (existing parents and students) and future P1 coming in

I am working mum, and I really run against time to coach and ensure my child foundation is good. Child has two subjects grp tuition now but I still have to watch him to ensure he get it right. For Sci, I realised that always must look for keyword and answer to the question. But a lot of times, our kids cannot grap this concept. sigh… maybe our kids are still too young to take some sci topics. I recalled last time my pri sci not so "cheem" poor children now, due to the education system here… sigh… trapped in a box then how to think out of the box.

oh no. 2nd leader can change between 2-7 years? :stompfeet: Then we may need to wait for another 3 years ? 😢

Really need to look for an exit :siam:

You seem to have faced deeper grievances than I do. I understand your frustrations, though not completely.

Top leader came in 3rd/4th quarter of 2009, so count down 6 years later....2015
2nd leader came in end 2008 or early 2009, so almost same year pass out as top leader....2015

Waiting time : 2 - 3 years for feng shui to turn around.

For science, the kids are learning more \"chim\" stuff, if no solid teaching is done, very difficult for the kids to understand. To me, Science is the worst department here....I doubt there are really good science teachers here, sometimes science lessons also used for other lessons end up no science lessons, and teacher rely on model answers to teach and students to copy....sigh....how to have improvement?

We didn’t complain thru the forum.

You have the gut, gather some parents, marched to the principal office like we did years ago. We demanded a change of form teacher. Some could not join, called the principal thru phone and complained about the form teacher too.

Another teacher got pregnant, we marched to the principal’s office again and asked for replacement. Because pregnant means during 9 mths, there will some absence here and there.

We complaint face to face not hiding behind the computer.

Should pregnancy be a valid reason to request for change of teacher? No doubt there could be increased absence due to medical conditions, but would that not defeat the point that women in Singapore have been fighting for: fair employment terms and no discrimination due to pregnancies?

Aiya, you don't post earlier. Must share your method earlier mah. So you all get what you want then? The first teacher got what problems huh? No wonder you sound very happy with this current principal right?

You mean he must see our faces first & make sure it's a big group then can take action, disregarding the seriousness of the problem?
How many people at one time? Must see our kids' results also? Top pupils then can entertain or what?

We are very busy professionals leh. Difficult to gather at the same time.

If not, must take one year lah? But now it's a high tech virtual world liao, still need such primitive method?

Like that I might as well write direct to MOE. Also virtual & let them investigate for us lor.

By the way, we had no intention for a change of teacher but only requested for a change of his teaching style, eg, must mark promptly & diligently & requested him not to give us model answers in the last minute to go through with our kids. We were not so 绝情。

After going through so much pain, it's great to get a competent teacher to co-teach the class. :rahrah: We were also surprised to hear the news, when this term started, that he will be transferred to another school. :?

You-know-who supporters out there, don't put all the blame on us.
