After school care is great for homes with 2 working parents. If you can manage your son’s timing, you can get him to do all his homework plus learn his weekly spelling and ting xie there. So when you go pick him, it’s all family time spent talking and playing games.

Good thing is the uncles and aunties there helping with school work.

Also, after school, they get picked by the centre from the hall to go to the after school care. They have shower, lunch, then activities( both indoor and outdoors) and they have LCs to do if no homework. At about 4 pm they got afternoon tea and I think outdoor games.

In my opinion, it’s better they go to after school care than plonk them at home with a maid. Cos I think if that’s the case, they’ll spend all time in front of the TV/computer. And by the time I get home, surely very tired cos have to deal with the homework and spellings etc. but if 1 parent doesn’t work, it’s better to stay home I think.

So far, I’m happy with the after school care. I’ll put my P1 there also next year.

I checked before my son went to primary 1 on 2011. And at that time, no schoolbus after morning star. Now, things could have changed. But from what I know, no schoolbus for after morning star.

Just got the phase 1 registration form last week:) exciting all over again 🙂

Hi mommies of stgps my son will be registering for p1 this year and I can only register him under phase 2c therefore I need to gather more information first before making this very important decision for him. I'm glad to know that the school has dedicated, caring and approachable teachers . However, I'm wondering how is their standard for moral values and disciplinary standards? As my boy is really active, even in his k2 his teachers have problems with him seated down in class. He really needs dedicated and patient teachers. And lastly does any mommies know how well did the stgps boys did last year for their psle? :thankyou: :thankyou:

thanks Nadya Eleanor! Yes, place already secured, orientation dates confirmed 🙂 2nd child easy...

                    Estellica,
my boy also the hyper active sort. Don't worry. If really needs intervention, the teacher will tell you and refer to school counselor. They will give you like loads of questionnaires to fill to determine your family dynamics, relationships with ALL family members. and if no sign of behavioral problems caused by say impending divorce, or abusive parents, they will refer to say a doctor IF your boy needs medical intervention say for ADHD. So far, mine only needs monitoring.. after going thru 1 whole cycle. and it seems now that he is in the system a few years, he have learnt the correct behaviour expected of him. but granted he is more easily distracted etc etc...

I am also hoping to get a place in sgps in phase 2c.thatz next week. I’m praying hard that my boy can get in. How does the school or moe notify us whether we r successful in the application? Can the school bus pick n drop address be different? As mil will be taking care of my boy after school.

                      Can anyone advise?

                      THAnk YOU
