Just retrieved the above info from the sch website .

Those 1-2 km will need to ballot.
Currently 75 applicants.
Those within 1 km still have a buffer of 16 . So shd be quite safe. 

Is it possible that there will be a sizable number of parents waiting to register on the last day as they need to monitor the registration statistics of those schools they are targeting at before making the final choice?

As of 29th July 2011:
Applicants -
(1) Within 1km = 65
(2) Between 1km-2km = 26

- No balloting for those staying within 1km from school.
- Balloting for those between 1 to 2km. Probability is not too high as there are only 5 vacancies left for the 26 applicants.
- No Phase 2C Supplementary this year.

A increase of 12 applicants for within 1km n 4 within 1-2 km. As what u have said. Parents monitor the statistic n make a final move last min.

At least , now can confirm a place.

I am not too familar with the curriculum of the primary levels at school. Does YZPS offer Higher Chinese and at which level if it does?

Ya also interested to know. Is it only at pr 5 ?I know school like mee TOH offer higher Chinese from Pri 1 tho I don’t thk it’s a sap sch.

Preferably I want my girl to take higher chinese from Pri 1 . Is it according to the ability of the child ?
After the wed morning session, the afternoon is it meant for cca?

Ya. Did nt know the competition for this yr Pri 1 is so intense . Yangzheng for so many years has always more than enough vacancy for 2c phrase. Due to the cut in intake , suddenly those within 1 km also run the risk of balloting. If they continue to cut to 150 next year, within 1 km will need to be balloted. Serangoon ave 2/3 is mature estate but there are a number of condos ard the area n the sch is quite popular amg the PR from china . When I was there , already saw a few PR registering.

I believe a number may be eyeing PLMGS or Maris Stella 1- 2 km. Once they know balloting required , they made a final move back to yangzheng within 1 km. hence a increase of 12 applicants within 1 km on the last day .
Last year ,I have a neighbour who applied PLMGS n not successful in the 1-2 km balloting n then applied for yangzheng 2c supplementry n failed again n finally went to Zhong HUA . Applied 3 school!! N went tho 2 balloting. 
