Thanks, hadrian, for this file, which I presume you downloaded form YZPS website.

One difference from the list attached in the envolope/pack for orientation is the Social Studies Readers have been removed from this list here (they were in the list sent to me)…

So I guess it’s true that the books are not required to be bought by the parents/students.

        To YZPS:
It might be necessary to let parents who had received the list in the orientation pack know that the books have been removed and they no longer need to buy them.

Suggest you give a call to the bookstore vendor first before heading down.

Hi went to the sch yesterday..

It took me 2 hrs to wait to purchase the books n uniforms though there are only a few parents doing the purchase .Alot of time spent on waiting. Not efficient . The vendor is not prepared. Hopefully on the 8 n 9 nov, they are better organized n prepared . Otherwise, prepare to wait for half a day .
My advice : to do the preorder for the textbooks .

During the designated books buying period the store uses one of the classrooms for packing books and engages part-time student helpers. Things do move faster then.

For some reason they just don’t provide for parents to purchase the books online like the other schools on SNP website. In addition there is this super grouchy lady book seller last year who just isn’t helping things. She tends to be non-responsive and doesn’t do any eye-contact.

After experiencing the easier way of ordering supplies online with another school for my older kid since 6 years ago, this school-vendor only option feels very restrictive. Online ordering provides for delivery service, which is very helpful for the whole lot of heavy books we have to lug back. Felt like I was back to pre-historic ages last year when I was buying books for my younger child.

One tactic I use is to split the book list into 2 categories - get the books you can fill at Popular first, then come back to the school bookstore for the rest of the items that you can only buy there. Makes things lighter and slightly less frustrating. And you get your Popular freebies and discounts along the way.

The textbooks sold by the vendor are cheaper than popular discounted price. Hence decided to get from the sch. The difference can be more than $1 for some of the books.

I only went to my older boy’s sch to purchase books when he is Pri 1 n the rest of the years, he got the school exercise books n school t-shirt himself. Text books passed down from cousin or bought from popular .

One thing I noted is there is a lot stuff including the shoes n even stationery like drawing block also printed with school name. This make it difficult for parents to purchase the items from outside the school.

Actually the books at the book shop should be cheaper as Popular will charge GST, while the school book shop will not.
