The school seemed to hv changed its way of class allocation this year after a change of principals. And no one from the school bothers to reply to parents' queries on the forum here anymore
We were pretty impressed with the school initially as it stood out from other schools in the way they allocate the students to their form classes. Instead of using the average of the students' results based on all 4 subjects, the students were allocated to their form classes based on the strength of their English and Science. They were then allocated to different Maths and Mother Tongue classes based on their individual abilities in these 2 subjects. We thought this was such a great idea as it does not penalize students who are weak in their Mother Tongue and yet was able to group the students in different classes according to their individual strengths and weaknesses.
Oh well..very disapppointed in the new system now as using average of 4 subjects is what most other schools do and does not reflect the students' real abilities. -
hi bekithia,
I am curious on this distribution system you are referring to.
Are you pointing to the ways how the school progress its students to the next class allocation after Primary 1?
My DD is joining Pri 1 next year.
I would thought that the allocation is a random assignment since there was assessment made on the new P1 enrolled students?
Can you please share more on your input about this school allocation of students to their classes? :scratchhead: -
Hi Matchoo
Yes the P1s are randomly assigned to their form classes and will stay put till end of P2. The re-allocation of classes happens at the end of P2 and P4.
The new system I mentioned affects the P4s going on to P5 next year. -

Tmr is the Admin Day, any parent whose child are in class 1B? I wonder if there will be a sale of uniform or later as no indicate on the letter.
If there is a chance, it's good to check with the teacher whether the class's time table needs the kid to wear uniform or not.
My kids never wore uniform this year. Everyday either school t-shirt, or house t-shirt…
Bought uniform and I think wasted, cos they outgrow the uniform... -
Just for infor for new P1 parent if you haven’t bought the uniform yet, you can buy 1 uniform, 2x PE t-shirt and 1 hse t-shirt and your child don’t have to change back to uniform after PE and if got PE, they can wear the PE shirt whole day. The sch quite flexi on the uniform. Bring a storybook everyday as they got silent reading and be at sch before 7.20 am and assemble at the Concourse (the place where we fill up our form on the Admin Day). The first day just bring wat is state on the paper that we got on the Admin Day.

I check with the school, they only sell uniform in school. No other places. Hi bekithia, I think I understand what you mean.....my girl primary 5 next year. I agreed with you...y..I don't really understand also. I guess have to wait till school re-open to make enquiry.

Can we buy the Chinese textbook from other Schools/outside? Went Down to the School a few times on different dates but was told the stock have not arrive. Call to check next week again.. :frustrated:

I had called the bookshop on the booklist provided and the lady told me that they will inform the teacher to let the parent know that the textbooks is ready to purchase from the sch bookstore. The lady mention that the texbooks not ready yet and the school will not be using it for the first 2 wk and no textbooks is avaliable for all primary sch. Popular bookstore also told me to buy from the sch as it will be much faster…We just have to wait for the textbooks.

FYI, the P1 Chinese books have just arrived today at the sch bookshop.

Hi all,
I'm a newbie to this forum. My gal is going to register for P1 in 2015. I am staying within 1 km of the school.
May I ask how are the teachers and school like? I read the previous posts seems the feedback is pretty good.
And the chances of getting in?
Many thanks
Mag
