        Gabby:
My son is about to finish P1. He got back his results slip and scored 88 for English. Is that a bad score for a P1? Very disappointed in fact.

Hi, Gabby. ok, a consolation...my DSs didn't score better than yours in English. So, hope u feel better. My stress is temp over.
On the day that the teacher gave out all the test papers for corrections in the class and collected them back, I was so stress bec my DS3 told me he got 20+ for his English mini test. I thot oh no, fail! I was stressed for so many days until the papers are back, then I realised he has confused his Eng marks with Math! And my DS1 confuse his Chinese with English. So I guess my stress is over bec they did better than their verbal reports.
angel64 is correct, there is still a lot of time to work things out. To me, P1 is to 'test water'. So, we know where is our children weakness and try to help them in future. Mine was 'killed' by compre and compo.

Hi, angle64. Just curious, what is your target? I have no target for my DSs this year bec really have no idea. My DSs don't even know what is the result slips until I briefed them last night. So now I can set P2 target for them - each subject better P1 by 10 marks. So, can anyone share how you all set target?

Hi, parents of P1 2012. If you would like to buy the Houghton Mifflin books, I have two sets to let go (keeping 1 set myself :)). The details of the books are:

Yah agreed. Son usually makes mistakes in comprehension. It will be good that the school can give sample model essays so that we know where our kids are lacking.

                Hi Gabby

                I’m new in the forum.
Your kid will be P2 next year. Do you send your son to any English classes.

Yes my son will be in P2 next year. I am not sending him for any English classes as we face logistics issue transporting him for the extra classes. have to support his learning at home.
