That is indeed waste of money. They should allow the recycling of the old file. But I also have lots of complaints about the old design which makes filing unnecessarily challenging.
I am quite  last week abt the holistic files. The school insisted that P2 buys the holistic file again! Saying P1 one cannot reuse! The new one cost $13.50 and the old one $5 is wasted!UltraTrex:
Agreed with you, im pissed and drop his formeer teacher a email and ask for timetable for P2.
She replied so nicely to brushed me off.....
A quick survey for P2 parents:
1) Did u buy the holistic file again? (yes/no)
2) In P1, did the sch/teacher uses the holistic file? (yes/no) If yes, how did they use it?
I asked qn2 bec my 3 files have been lying in my bookshelf for one whole year. My DDs bring the papers back with instruction on how to file. I did it diligently for them. No one sees the file except me. So my question is why should I spent another $40.50 (3x13.50) and wasted my old files ($15). After all, I am the end user. I am the only one uses the files.
I understand all their explanation that the new file has flexibilty to add new pockets and while the old one cannot. The new one also can reuse for P3. But when I file one subject per team in 1 pocket, I used only 1/4 of P1 file last yr. Stupid to me that they must insist to file 1 paper 1 pocket. They should not file like cert bec test papers ususally have many pages and one need to take out to read page 2 onwards. So, being the end user, I feel it is easier that I can bring the whole stack of same subject per team out of 1 pocket. The final joke is that I am likely to throw away the P1 test papers soon. I have already thrown away the content inside K1/K2 holistic files last year!
Really full of frust
So far I have not received new holistic file yet and was not told to make any new purchase. -
My son’s P1 form teacher last year used the holistic file diligently so I am fine that I have to buy another one for my son this year. My grouse with the school is their collection of money. Cant they collate all the items to be paid and ask parents to do a one time payment? Instead I have to pass different amounts of money to my son almost every other day to pay for something new… Very annoyed by this.

I am new to this. I have just submitted the form to do PV at Poi Ching. Anyway of you have done PV at Poi Ching before? Able to share whether what type of activities PV will be doing? I’m a FTWM and hence, can only participate in ad-hoc projects…

My son last year had weekly tests and only some carried marks. So I lost track which are the formal assessments. -
