I can't remember what DS gets for each. Just managing one test at a time. Dread to think it's only P2.
:goodpost:Gabby:
I will only support the programme if the school can show that with their Chinese programme, the results surpass nanyang, RGPS or taonan. If not, there is no rationale for cramming what other children learn in 6 years to 2 years for pcs pupils.
Remember, life is a marathon, it's not about starting fast, but who has the stamina to last longer in the race.
In fact, I thot too chiam can back fire. My DS1 seems don't like chinese nowadays. He said so difficult.
Nonkiasu, are your DS in the same class next year? -
Gabby:
All in diff class.

I asked the sch to split them. The number of times my DS3 writes on his handbook over 2 years is countable. He has been relying on his brother for all messages. It's time he learns to be indepedent. Also, give the teachers a break, trying to recognise who is who in the class. -
any parents with P5 (2013) child out there? care to share the changes of the class relocation system? I am strongly disagree with that arrangement!!!

Now, I also curious how P3 (2013) class is allocated. Anyone knows? -
nonkiasu, did your 3 DS all go into HA classes?
Btw, does anyone know how the HCL in PCS work? Coz our kids are taking HCL since P1 so they will continue all the way or get to choose at certain point whether to continue taking HCL or normal CL? -

I thot kids just take HCL - no idea either. They already learnt YuYun. So P3 HCL shd be chicken-feet, isn't?
Hmm, will know when booklist come. -

If i remember correctly, after P4 exam, there will be a cut off point for hcl or standard cl.
HA is high ability class.... If im not wrong, there will be 2 HA class for P3 next year : C and D.... -
Hi all,
My DS gg to b P1 nxt yr. Actual fact after listening to d P’s Speech of cramming 2000 chn words in just 2yrs… Start hving regrets & worries into enrolling to PCS.
As much as i love its strong chn culture, i wd still like DS to hv a fun enjoyable route in his fundamental yrs… Now am so so worry tat d ultimate chn prog may dampen his confidence… 左右为难 -
At end of P4, they can choose to take CL or HCL. School will recommend, but parent’s choice ultimately. No additional points for HCL at PSLE unless child goes to SAP schools. Then add 1 point fir pass, 2 points for merit and 3 points for distinction. I believe the standard of the children in P6 will be relatively good, whether in HCL or CL.

nonkiasu - Gabby mentioned earlier that HA is High Ability and MA is Middle Ability. Heard HA is from C-G and remaining are MA. The classes are not ranked from good to bad, more of random like if top 5 students in that level, they are split to C, D, E, F, G and then the 6th top student goes to C again and so on. So your 3 DS all went to HA classes?
My DS’ performance dropped in Sem 2, overall results are still ok to go into HA class but can’t imagine next year where most kids likely drop one grade coz p2-3 is a big jump.
