Hey, nonKiasu.Sorry to tell you this Poi Ching doesn't have any Open House @ all. (can i use this words) NOT @ ALL. what i knew.
which last 1 year before i would like to view and bring my boy ard before P1 register. Too sad tt no open house. :idea:
@ last i also chose this sch. as very near to my hse. Sigh......

So in the end, did you managed to see the school b4 reg? Today, I am impressed with the new and latest facilities that Tampines Primary have! So tempted to go for it instead of Poi Ching. But I have not visited any primary for the last 30 years. So don't know is this the norm. Anyway, how's the facilities, culture, teachers, etc. in Poi Ching?

No. @ last i give up.
As nope. During tt time nope of school got Open House :=(
Same as me been not visited school for past 30+ year liao
I was told Jun Yuan & Tampines school all newly renovated. So all great facilities etc. haha!
Well, Teacher's wise.................Arrrrrg. I think all mostly are the same. And depends of luck. as same getting maid. haha!

And get school nearby are the best. Unless you will be driving kid's.^^

So far that's nothg test in Term.1 & 2 yet.

According letters given from school. There are few exam coming soon.
Show n Tell. Marks in the Year End report etc.

wow, this one is pretty far away from the school. I heard there is one at Blk 703, but not sure whether it is a good one or not either.

Hi all...anyone had any idea what is the remedial program like for P1K? the hours are kind of hard... wed: 11.15 - 12.15, thur: 10.30-11.30.

what i knew from my neighbour are they allows kid to bring lunch box in the school. And before 1225hrs (assembly) must get ur kid to eat fast.
Must eat fast LOL

Regarding timing of the remedial class all timing i am not so sure:(

My boy(Pri1) told me he was asked to take a MOE test today. The test lasted for 1hr, comprises 5 parts; Set A, B, C, D &E. Around 12 questions each set. MCQ based, some questions have 6 or 8 answers to choose from. From his description, the questions seemed to be IQ based.


This is new to me as I thought MOE only screened kid when they are Pri 3.

Managed to contact his teacher and according to her, the pri 1 MOE test is to identify students who need additional coaching in their studies. Results will not be released to parents, not even to form teachers. MOE will only release the names of students who needs the extra coaching.

That's interesting. First time heard of this as well. Pretty considerate for MOE.
