cant imagine boys learning guzheng? my boy has no music backgrd cos he so active and short attn.

      Hi 24hr-mum
Actually, I also thought it's a little funny to introduce guzheng to them. Maybe not enough players in the Chinese Orchestra?! Rope in those who are interested...

Btw, info for current P1 parents, this term the P2s were required to do a poetry recitation for English show-and-tell. They were given three poems to choose from and had to recite w/o looking at the script.

Yes, they have lockers. My son likes to keep the lesser used books under his desk, but sometimes they are asked to clear the items away, e.g. when they rearrange tables for exams etc.

Yes, lockers provided but you need to buy a special padlock from the school. My boy and his friends keep a lot of stuff under the desk and sometimes the teacher will scold them for being messy.

As for the school bus, the driver will collect them from their classes for the first 2 weeks. They need to wear a name tag. Subsequently, the boys will meet with the driver at the waiting area near the General Office. Depending on your drop-off area (void deck / home etc), sometimes he will ask that you wait for your boy near the road instead of turning into the carpark as the bus could be too big. They try not to do three-point-turns at narrow roads.

                    Namie:

Son was sobbing yesterday. He told me he used his pocket money to buy a pack of biscuits for his sister as her birthday present this Saturday. But when he walked away to put his school bag and get ready for his wushu, his classmate ate all the biscuits and challenged him. Said that my son gave him permission to eat all the biscuits.

My son is in P1, he often comes home with bruises. He told me his classmates and those slightly older boys often pushed & kicked him, Just 2 days ago, he was pushed down from the 'balancing bar' , knocked his chest and suffered bruised and swollen shin.
My friends with sons in this school kept reminding me that this is the environment in a boys school, let him toughen up.... nevertheless, mummy feels heartache 😓

Just saw this post. My boy also P1 came back about 2 weeks ago with bruises and abrasion to his back. Seems that he was pushed at the basketball court/exercise area. But he says it was another P1 boy and that it was for no reason. Are there bullies hanging around that area? I told him to avoid the basketball court area unless he is there with friends.

Teachers’ Day is coming round. Does MSH have any guidelines on what sort of gifts to give teachers? What do boys normally give the teachers?

I recall that most boys in my son's class gave useful stationery. Nothing too fancy. Think they're not supposed to get pricey stuff. Last year he got a pen for each teacher. This year i suggested notepads.
