I was talking about the bigger boys in the bus that another parent mentioned. I think the bullies won't even dare to tell their own parents that a parent told them off for bullying a younger kid right? So how would their parents be upset?
By approaching the bully yourself, their parents may be upset with you, and war started. The parents may hate each other, blah blah blah. Your boy has just started p1, the best way i think is to approach the teachers or principal to solve the problem.
If you are sure that the older boys did so intentionally, feel free to inform the teacher, discipline master etc but don't let the bullying drag just so to stay amicable. The one who suffers is your own son. 人善被人欺。。。 -
I think older boys do that for fun, for sure they know that they shouldn’t do that. But I was referring to namie’s case.his boy is only in p1, and those p1 who bully another p1, and when parents confront them, I think they will tell their parents. They are also afraid of being confronted by another adult.
School bus tend to get rowdy with bigger boys, that’s why I wasn’t keen in school bus, but dun have choice. CHS dun have vacancy for us. -
Yup, same class can be a bit tricky. Thankfully the boys change classes in P3. I agree if all P1s, then just tell Mr Cheong if teacher is unresponsive.
For the older boys in the bus, I think there's no need to save face for them. They should be ashamed of themselves. Pick on someone their own size. How would they like their bags to be thrown at their faces?
We are all still dreaming of CHS huh? -
i thot i read somewhere that for MSH, the banding is only at p5, so is it they will be in same class from p1-p4?
for sch bus bullies, can try talk to the driver, depending on whr he is the concerned type. i did that for my boy in k1 and i also told the boy off mysf.
for class bullying, if its just one-off namecalling, i may let it off. but if its deliberate kicking and throwg of sch bags in the face, i think i’d prob tell the teacher cos i scared my boy get hurt seriously.
my friend’s daughter was playing in sch n pushed down her friend, prob not maliciously. but the girl’s front teeth became shaky n had to see dentist! and her specs broken also. my friend had to compensate the specs. -

I heard from another parent they change classes at P3 for children to mix around I think. Her friend has a boy in a higher level. The banding comes later I guess. -
CHS has a waiting list of about 200 and parent volunteer about 40 plus. And parent volunteers get the priority, not Catholics. We can stop dreaming already.

I was surprised to hear him said someone kicked him twice at his back. I saw the boys during the first two days and they generally looked ok - not bullying type.
I’ll monitor next week, see if he comes back with more feedback. I’ve told him to make sure he highlight to the teachers everytime it happened. But things like teasing, he may want to just tell the boy not to do it as he doesn’t like it. -

Yes my son brought home cheese wafers too--he didn't complain about the burger though. I think the most sickening thing is we were made to pay for the whole year and they didn't even stick to the menu for a week! For lunch we have no choice because there isn't much we can prepare at 6am that won't turn bad by 115pm in this heat.Vanilla:
Ds just came home, and to my disappointment, today the caterer gave strawberry biscuit instead of oranges! Despite the lady fm nonya manis calling me back yesterday to reassure that they will be following the menu. Yes they follow, only the main dish, but still NO fruits. Disappointed.....can anyone cfrm that yr boys also received the strawberry biscuit?
Yes! NO oranges today! My son got cheese wafer biscuits. Although I feel is better than crackers, but, it is not what was promised to us. Besides, she told you that it will be oranges.
Also, my son told me that it is only a plain burger with fish patty. No tomatoes/lettuce/cheese. The stated salad is missing also!
They still claimed in their letter that they 'have taken great pains in selecting & planning healthy, nutritious and well-balanced meals'. I believe parents opted for this catering is because of the problem of waking up to prepare for the kids and besides, the menu looks good. But if they are cheating us on the quality, are we to just accept and suffer in silence?
They seems to be leaving us with no choice cos the kids are not allowed to go to the canteen.
If the situation does not improve I'm planning to raise in the parent-teacher meeting on the 18th. Which classes are your boys from? We should find as many parents as possible to feedback. -
Yes, the food was miserable, no fruits as promised & the drinks they get are Yeos packet drinks. I thought it would at least be some fruit juice. Definitely not worth the money we paid.
I thought the teachers there are very fierce. I saw on the 1st day in one of the class, 2 boys were being lectured at the door for name calling.
