Hi Tinkerbelle,

what do they use the white board for? I thot that was for art so din even bother to pack. As for the locker, can my DD put her stuff inside herself? Or do they need the teacher's permission to put thgs inside?
The white board is for the gals to do Chinese 'xi zi' writing, maths questions, practise spelling etc.....save paper. Once the gals have done their work, the teacher will ask them all to raise the white board up for her to check. Don't forget to pack white board markers and duster for your DDs. πŸ˜‰

Your DD can put things into her locker by herself; no need to ask for permission. Just remind your DDs to make sure she puts it into the right locker. All lockers have a number labelled next to it, according to the child's register no. My DD2 put her exercise books in the wrong locker on the 1st day last year and couldn't find it later.. :slapshead:

Tinkerbelle,

saw fr the term schedule that specialised CCA starts on the week of 10 jan, so roughly when will we know if our gals have been selected?

sorry for the many questions.
Only the upper Pri gals start their CCA from 10 Jan. The lower pri gals will only commence CCA on the 3rd week of sch (starting from 17 Jan). You should hear from the sch latest by next week if your DD has been selected for CCA. πŸ˜„

Hi Cantbearit2,

Yes...you are right...I think we need to do that...
I am so used to my son's school where the teachers give out the term schedules to the boys and tell them to bring home for their parents.... πŸ˜„
Btw, which class is your gal in?
Mine is in P1 Responsibility
My DD is in P1 Perseverance. First day of sch, saw a girl in P1 Responsibility also v petite like my DD. πŸ˜‰ Is it your DD?

Hi all!

Yes... after 2 days, I'm getting very sotong already, what to bring and what not. DD is in 1 Compassion, any fellow mummies here to share & compare notes for 1 Compassion class?

She got her helpmate, but used it as a diary instead. She told me need to bring English worksheet tdy..\"I love my family\", but when I whipped out that booklet, she told me whole stack. Thought it's quite heavy to bring everything there in one go, so we argued over this.
The Helpmate is like a diary for your DD to record down all homework and for parents to write notes to the teacher and vice versa when necessary.

As for the Eng worksheets, the teachers will collect the whole stack as she'll keep them in her cupboard in the classroom. This is to minimise the incidence of loss further down the year. Do remember to label your DD's worksheets before submitting to the teacher.
Anyone DD interested in joint the CCAs? I wanted my girl to join the dance club as I feel she has talent in that but she not interested. She wants to join art club.

If she joined CCA, does it means that I have to bring her to school myself or the school bus will come and pick her up early.

I thought gym is compulsory for all students. So is not right?

If your DD join any CCA, you will have to send her yourself. The sch bus will not fetch.

Gym is compulsory for all P1 as their PE3 where they learn basic gym moves but the sch also has gym as a specialised CCA. Now, these gals can do somersaults in the air :rahrah: Training for gym as a specialised CCA is more intensive, twice a week. πŸ˜“

Oh. I saw \"PEHE\" session in her timetable. So that's the time where they will have their basic gym?

Wah..do somesaults in the air! My DD sure scared of that. She is scared of heights. :)
When the gals have gym depends on their register number. Half the class will have gym lessons while the other half will have normal PE lessons. The the next PE lesson, they'll swap around.

I don't know what's PEHE. Don't see that on my DD\"s timetable but saw PE/Health Ed instead. Wonder if HE is the same as Health Ed?? DD1 did mention that this year Health Ed and PE are 'sharing' periods....dunno what that means though.

Today is the 3rd day, DD has been waking up late and we got into GSSC only at 10am. I've decided that this will be the arrangement since DH's timing is flexi. I kinda lost track, whose DDs are also in GSSC?

@acjb: If you are the preggie mom with Coach handbag, think I saw you on Day 1.
My DD is in GSSC too. Thot we were late, always arriving at ard 8.30am, u r even later. Let's PM each other our DD's name then we can ask them to look out for each other. πŸ˜‰

acbj, looks like everyone notice the preggie lady. :rotflmao: I will surely walk up to u the nex time round.

My DD brought the clear holder and put the circular inside on the first day. She came home and told me about the green file that night. I thought the green file is for Music but after checking with her twice, she still tell me the same thing, so I let her use it.

I agree that it's best to let the students write down what they need to bring. Hopefully with the helpmate, it'll be clearer to both students and parents. πŸ˜‰
My DD's FT wrote down the $3.10 required for her in the helpmate. However the rest of the required sign off pages in the helpmate was scribbled by DD (recognise her untidy handwriting, hee....)

So far, quite happy with her FT, Mrs. Sarah Tan.
