Have u submitted the CCA form? Mine is still in my DD's bag. Have put it in there since Monday but her teacher din collect it.

Hi jesyeo,
I told my gal to pass up the CCA form to her teacher last Monday.
Hope the teacher collects your gal's one today! -
Hi funkymonkey,
You will know which CCA your DD has been selected for by end of this week as CCA will start next week for the lower pri gals. Good luck.
Last year, for the P1 parents' briefing, some parents brought their gals along in uniform. Yeap, sch as usual for your gals on that day. You can either get your DD to sleep earlier the night before and bring your DD along for the briefing or get someone to take care of her while you attend the briefing, then go back home to send your DD to sch (Ya, a bit troublesome). Still got time to organise something. :D[/quote]
Hi tinkerbelle'
Thanks !!! hope my gal will be happy in whichever CCA she gets in

hi funkymonkey,
sorry to hear the malay teacher didn't sound nice to you as well as your DD was crying this morning, what did she so nervous about? is your DD a lefty? i used to worry if my DD is dyslexic too coz she was having mirror writing issue but luckily she is getting better when she grows older but not very good at spelling or mis-spell words very often. -
Tinkerbelle:
No no, as in she gotten both list of words for spelling from the teachers on the same day! LOL!!autumn82:
My gal got both the chinese and english spelling papers on the same day..
Hi autumn82,
Chinese and English spelling on the same day?? Very shiong!! Never encountered this situation with my DDs in the last 5 years. Is your DD ok with that? If not, maybe you can bring that up to the FT during the parents' briefing. If enough parents 'protest', the teachers will compromise.

Hi lvkt,
My daughter very worried her MT scolds her agin...she says the MT goes too fast and interrupts everytime she wants to ask/speaks
my gal is not lefty, she's dyslexic and her Oral dyspraxia makes it hard for her to speak...she will start to splutter and stutter and get all the sequencing of words and pronounciation wrong when she gets NERVOUS or under PRESSURE..
I am ,needless to say sooooooo worried about my gal

hi funkymonkey,
i understand how you feel, i was worried about my DD that time she wrote everything opposite too, sigh...poor little gal, it will definitely spoil her confident if she's dare to ask, may tell the FT to voice out your worries? -

Hi lvkt,Hi Tinkerbelle,
can i ask if you know we can only opt for one CCA class? i mean we've given 3 choices but at the end DD will be selected from one of her choices only or can take 3 of them? coz i see Art club and Dance club got clashed at 10:30-12:00 and 9:30-11:30 respectively and school starts at 12:15pm, if DD joins the Art Club then she will only have 15minutes for lunch before the school starts? TIA.
Usually, most students will only select 1 CCA but there are a few gals in MCS who have 2 CCA. The students must be able to cope with their sch work before the teacher will give the green light for 2nd CCA.
From what you mentioned, it's impossible for a student to take both Art and Dance as their CCA due to the clash in timing. So it's either one or the other.
Every year, the sch will have a Talent Identification Programme to scout for students who show talent in various CCA. These students could be offered 1-3 CCA which they show talent for. Given the siutation, the student will only be advised to choose 1 CCA only.
Art club CCA is on Wednesday. The PM gals have a slightly later start on Wednesdays than usual days in view of teachers' contact time. If I recall correctly, the gals will have to be seated in the hall by 12.30pm on Wed so if your DD finish at 12noon, she'll still have time to have her lunch. -

 Oops.....so sorry autumn82......thought you meant your DD has chinese & English spelling on the same day!!! So poor thing.

Dear lvkt,hi funkymonkey,
i understand how you feel, i was worried about my DD that time she wrote everything opposite too, sigh...poor little gal, it will definitely spoil her confident if she's dare to ask, may tell the FT to voice out your worries?
Yeah,I will probably check with the school too if she can opt out of MT.....
I will definitely talk to FT on the 21st on this matter.
thanks for your understanding . -

Hi funkymonkey,My gal however is PETRIFIED of her malay teacher...i finally managed to speak to her over the phone today after calling 4 times since last week...i wanted to \"warn\"the teacher first about my gal but when she called me just now...she was negative, not pleasant and sounded very pissed off in fact. I was    she kept saying it was her lunchtime and she has a meeting and kept on interrupting me right after she asks me \"so what do u want me to do?\"i could hardly get a word in... :frustrated: :frustrated: :frustrated:
My gal cried this morning and kept saying \"I'm nervous\"over and over all the way to school :gloomy: :gloomy: :gloomy:

Oh dear...I'm :!: to hear about the treatment you received from your DD's Malay teacher. I agree with lvkt...maybe you would like to address this issue with Ms Sung. I suggest you don't wait till the parents' briefing. Maybe you can call the staff room. If Ms. Sung is not available, leave a message. She'll call you back. At least if it's been brought to her attention, she can try to work something out with your DD's Malay teacher ASAP, or at least inform the Malay teacher of your DD's condition and special needs.
The way the sch works is... if you have an issue with anything or anyone, speak to the FT or the teacher involved first. If the issue you brought up is unresolved, the next person to discuss the issue with is the Vice-principal.
Pls don't feel discouraged or disheartened by 1 teacher who is rushing for her lunch and a teachers' meeting held every Wednesday k. Cheer up dear. :snuggles:
So sorry to hear that your DD cried all the way to sch. Do encourage her. If you read the link I posted earlier about Ms Sung, you'll see she's very good with kids who cry. Hope your DD will feel better today.
