hi dear mummies of MCS, i remembered b4 the school closed last year my DD did an audition for drama club. she got a letter of an invitation through the TIP. my question is How come she is now confirmed for netball as her CCA? Can someone pls.enlighten me. :?

was it something to do with the 3 choices given earlier?

Good to \"see\" you again. Was netball one of your DD's selected CCA? If not, then most likely, your DD has been identified as a talented netball player. DD1 told me that during PE and TIP, the teacher will do PE trials and the teacher will select those with potential to groom them for the sch team eventually. DD was also selected for netball 3 years ago but she rejected the offer. DD told me they want agile gals who can move with the ball and she's not. She always says the ball doesn't like her..keke.

Does your DD like netball? The netball gals are very close and hang out together a lot... Maybe because of their training. If your DD prefers Drama, may I suggest you email Ms S. Khoo (the teacher in-charge of speech & Drama for upper pri) or Mrs. M. Toh (drama teacher for lower pri) to enquire about your DD's selection from TIP last year. All the best. Hope your DD gets the CCA of her choice.

I wrote to her FT to ask abt chinese spelling, and reply was every Tuesdays, but didn't mention starting which week. Gonna clarify again.

Most classes are starting their spelling in week 3, which is next week. Think your DD got to learn this weekend.....have fun.

Great to hear your DD enjoys netball...it sure does make a big difference when you enjoy something. Oh, your P4 DD is in netball too....no wonder DD2 wants to follow her....more moral support. I'm sure your DD2 is very agile, if not, the sch would not have selected her for netball during TIP....all the best.

:welcome: . There are a few mummies from 1 Perseverance on this thread. The gals are banded and go for Chinese lessons according to the abilities. Not to worry. You might want to read the last few pages of this thread...the P1 parents had been discussing about changing MT classes. Hope that helps...

Everyone line up after recess then she sat in classroom wondering where everyone was!!!!
She said she was super nervous but realised that going back to classroom is the best solution as everyone will have to go back to class anyway!!!Phew!!!

Also,the MT teacher called to apologise but still did not want to meet up with me and speak face to face. My FT and the AED were really kind and understanding.

We opt out of MT,my gal to scared even see the MT's face.....

Your dd very smart...still know she should go back to wait in class.

Glad to hear that things are sorted out. Guess this MT teacher should reflect on her behaviour.

Anyway, now that your DD has opted out of Malay, hope she's happier in sch now. One less stress in her life... :lol:

DD has never brought back the Chinese workbook before, just textbook.

Has any of your DD told you that she belong to a group in the Chinese class?
I checked with DD, she told me she is in the same class but they are being group according to 'the test'. Can't make head and tail out of what she is talking about. I think all will be clearer next Friday after PTM....

This year, the P1 gals are banded earlier. Last year, DD2 only had the assessment test end of Term 1 and changed classes according to her results in Term 2. Must say, it's very early to band now....a lot of the gals are still adapting to P1.. :scratchhead:
