Hi lvkt,hi chergaby & cantbearit2,
oh your DD are with GSSC too? may i ask you something, there's book from GSSC and asking me to buy a workbook or exercise book and i put $2 in my DD's wallet for long, perhaps DD didn't pass it to the teacher at GSSC so should i buy for DD or DD should pass $$ to GSSC teacher? thanks.
So far, GSSC nvr ask me for any $$. On 1st day, we were briefed:
1) To get an exercise book, which serves as a comm book
2) Bring Eng & Math assessment books for them to work on.
3) Ms Zhang will advise which Chinese assessment to buy or she'll get for us & we pay. -

Hi
Hi WorriedParent74,WorriedParent74:
Understood fr my gal that Mrs S Goh is absent today n thus the class was split into 2 to attend lesson ib another class
She came home asking me 'mum why primary sch operates like that'
Honestly I wld hv thot a relief teacher will cm takeover the class instead of splitting the class up
Well...uncomfortunately my gal din do ok in GSSC, she was all ok on the way to the Ctr but the minute she enter the gate, she got restless n eyes turn red telling us it's so scary to go in there
Seeing her so distress pained us n we decided to pull her out fr SC n make alternative arrangement
Strangely, she slept well last nite without waking up in the middle of nite which she has been doing the past week
Guessed she is really stressed out by the idea of gng to SC
Will PM u my pte email address so we can kp in touch on the kids on their classwork etc
It is a common practice in MCS that the gals are split into different classes when their teachers are absent. I'm surprised your DD's class only got split into 2 groups. Usually, the class will be split into groups of 4-5 gals according to their register number and each group will be allocated to the same designated class everytime the teacher be absent.
On several occasions, DD had relief teachers but that's only when there are enough human resources.
Oh...sorry to hear that your DD still doesn't like attending childcare. What are you planning to do? Any help from home?
Thanks for the info, i din know MCS has such practice. Must let my gal know. She gets confused when such things happened. She is a very 'concerned' lil gal when things are nt inaccordance to what she think...sighh
yup, we have help fr family but our concern is she is nt discipline when she is at home. Will have to look for alternative actually -

tinkerbelle, oh yr DD bought a highlighter too? but yr DD is older then maybe she really needs it but my DD is just P1 and she is indeed a big eater, she didn't even go buy food to eat but bought stationery i was very shock
Hi lvkt,
DD2 is only in P2...also no need for highlighter..keke. She just likes the colour. :slapshead: Think sometimes the gals get influenced by their peers. DD2 went to the bookshop with her friends and ended buying something herself.
Can imagine your shock...NO food!! After yesterday's  , I'm sure your DD won't give her food a miss anymore. She must be so hungry by the time she got home. -

It is right. They are asked to buy an A4 exercise book (cost 90ct) as a common book. The children were told to bring $2 to buy the exercise book themselves.
The rest of info is as per above

Threefuchsia24:
My girl hardly talks about school, has never brought any homework back except for the alphabet writing, her helpmate is empty except for notes from her FT. We din know there's auditions being held, we just received a confirmation letter for her r gym, we assumed that all who applied will get in ....I'm getting worried abt my girl...she seems very blur!
Hi threefuchsia24,
If your DD recieved a confirmation letter from R gym, that indicates she shows great potential, therefore no need to go for any trials. Congrats!!!
DD2 also seldom talks about sch last year when she was in P1. Usually, I have to ask her questions and dig for more info bit by bit. Now, she offers more info than I can handle in a traffic jam..keke. Give your DD some time to warm up.
Helpmate is empty?? Could it be because there's no homework? Usually, if there's homework, the teacher will write them on the white board for the gals to copy down into their Helpmate. Maybe can check with your DD.

Ya, good idea to let your DD know. I know the gals don't like it when they go to another class but if it's any consolation, they go with the same classmates everytime and it doesn't happen all the time.Hi
