      hi chergaby & cantbearit2,

oh your DD are with GSSC too? may i ask you something, there's book from GSSC and asking me to buy a workbook or exercise book and i put $2 in my DD's wallet for long, perhaps DD didn't pass it to the teacher at GSSC so should i buy for DD or DD should pass $$ to GSSC teacher? thanks.

      Hi lvkt,

So far, GSSC nvr ask me for any $$. On 1st day, we were briefed:
      1) To get an exercise book, which serves as a comm book
      2) Bring Eng & Math assessment books for them to work on.
      3) Ms Zhang will advise which Chinese assessment to buy or she'll get for us & we pay.

My DD is also in GSSC.
Yes, we are also briefed as above.
However, last week She copied down in her communication book to buy a 'Science Journal' book. It is around A5, from Sch bookshop and less than $2. There is a 'Parents' signature' chop beside what she wrote, so we went to get it. Bookshop Aunty told us she is not sure but brought out one A5 size exercise book which costs $0.90.

        Hi acbj,
If your DD is still keen in art, maybe you would like to email Mdm Tan Li Kiang (the teacher in charge of the art club) today. Lvkt did that too and the teacher called her that same evening to arrange a trial for her DD tomorrow. The art trial is tomorrow so you still have a chance to try it out. Good luck to your DD. πŸ˜‰

        Thanks!!
I emailed her and she called me.
I am impressed at the rate that they reply email considering that they are teaching and may have other duties on hand that day. (definitely faster than citibank - the bank that says it doesn't sleep... Hv been waiting for them to address my faulty IB token issue since 3 weeks ago. After 2 phone calls, I am still waiting.... Got to go and 'bang table' later.)
        :x

My DD will be able to join the Art trial tomorrow.
Seems like there are a lot of students who are interested, thus she said only those who show potential and talent in this area will be selected.

        Hi acbj,

        :rotflmao: Citibank

Wonderful news for your DD....ya....art club and dance club are popular CCAs so need to audition. Good luck to your DD tomorrow. Hope she gets selected.

Yes, the teachers at MCS are quite efficient with their emails. Mdm Tan LK is a Chinese teacher for both Am and PM sessions so you're so lucky to have caught her at the right time...

BTW, last wk, DD told me that there was a snake in the compound of GSSC. Though she did see it, but teaches asked them to go to a room. She was more excited than scared.

acbj, if your DD is going for Art trial tmr. how's her lunch arrangement?
Don't think there is enuf time to go back GSSC for lunch.. :?

Yes, thankfully the snake was caught within the hour it was spotted.

As for lunch, I will give her a pack of Milo and a bun in case there isn't enough time to go back to GSSC.
But My DD might finish the work way before the time is up (depending if she is in the mood to draw).....
              πŸ˜‰
If she is still hungry, I think she will buy bigger portion of noodles to eat during recess. So far, she told me that she spent her recess eating noodles, sushi, fishball, fruits..... (at least 2 items) and it makes me wonder if the canteen food there is really yummy and nice..... Will make sure that she has $2 tomorrow.

Not sure if they will keep them till 12pm as stated or whoever is done can leave...
Even so, worried if DD can r'ber how to walk back to GSSC. I asked her, she said she knows, but knowing her she's always on her LaLa Land...

WOW, my DD must \"buddy\" with yours! Mine always 5 pcs of sushi or a muffin. The sushi uncle also knows her by now. Besides these junk food! Just tdy, i cut her allowance to $1, bocs she hardly drinks water (despite constant reminders). I think she'll fall sick soon with junk food!!

DD2 is only in P2...also no need for highlighter..keke. She just likes the colour. :slapshead: Think sometimes the gals get influenced by their peers. DD2 went to the bookshop with her friends and ended buying something herself.

Can imagine your shock...NO food!! After yesterday's  , I'm sure your DD won't give her food a miss anymore. She must be so hungry by the time she got home.
