funkymonkey,Ya, I agree with you that all kids are different. DH & I sometimes wonder how children brought up in the same environment can be as different as chalk & cheese. My DDs are also very different in their characters. Nature vs nurture??? :?its so true when they say that all kids are different..DS is super KS and always want to be NO.1..asked me for chinese tuition. recently....
DD1 is very kuniang and have loads of learning challenges and DD2 is 4yrs old...says she's a \"boyish gal\"wants to go to a boys school loves dinosaurs and hates pink!!!! can spell \"velociraptor\" \"gallimimus\"dinosaur words etc but will not know how to read \"said\"or spell \"they\" :? :? :?
Your DD2 is so cute & unique....1 of the few gals who likes dinosaurs and hates pink....keke. So amazing she can spell long words like \"velociraptor\" & \"gallimimus\". :salute: I can't even pronounce them.. -

Hi jesyeo,May I know when did u start noticing that ur DD is Dyslexic?
funkymonkey:
Hi can'tbearit,
You know my DD's case...dyslexic and dyspraxic ..no choice lah must be KS and ask the school for all the help that i can get.Its also good to be upfront about my gal's needs to the teachers.they tend to be more symphathetic and gentler when they know that my gal have learning difficulties....anyway as parents we are our child's advocate!

Our therapists told us she's dyslexic when she was 4 and we confirmed by atge 5...as that was when she really started learning how to write.we also attended classes at DAS for about a year.:) -

The CL teacher stapled the small note on her helpmate. Should be soon I guess? Coz my gal said the teacher already started revision since yesterday.Hmm I din receive the circulation on CL.

Thanks Tinkerbell, I was just wondering when I can visit the school. Wrote them an email but never got a reply. Guess everyone's busy with the CNY holidays :). At least now I know about when the open house will be, thanks for info :). I suppose I hv to find out from the school website for the actual day, correct?
Tinkerbelle:
Hi gin,
:welcome: back to KSP & the MCS thread. Wish your DD all the best in her P1 registration exercise this year. MCS will usually have an open house in May. Maybe you can consider bringing your DD there for a feel of the sch. -

Thanks for sharing. I'm just curious. Looking at your note, I can see MCS has changed the format of MT assessment slightly this year. Last year, DD2 didn't have these components: (1) Answering questions based on what teacher asked (textbk) & (2) Read 2 HYPY sentences. Only had the test paper. Can see that MOE is placing more emphasis on oral & reading skills now.
Good luck to all the P1 gals with their MT test on 16-18/2. :ugogirl: -

Hi Gin,
In the past few years, MCS Open House was held in May (the last week of the sch term). If there are no changes this year, guess the open house will be sometime between 23/5 - 27/5. Ya, definitely a good idea to check the sch's website in May to confirm the actual day.
