yes, DD got 10 out of 10 but not sure why there's a B & B+ for the 3rd & 4th spelling respectively. Now it make sense cos DD's penmanship is really not so good.cantbearit2:
Juz realised that my DD's spelling bk has this \"B\" & \"B+\" (in red ink) under the remarks column for her 3rd and 4th spelling test. Anyone noes wat it means?
Hi Cantbearit2,
Just curious, was there a mark given as well with the \"B+\" grade?? I haven't seen a grade written on DDs' spelling books before. Last year, P1's penmanship marks were awarded according to a Handewriting practice book. Do the P1 have a handwriting practice book this year?
They still have the handwriting practice bk but it was not graded (or at least I din c any grades on it). -

Hi mummies,
My girl brough her spelling book home and I realized that they had been given spelling last friday based on the list for the diagnostic test. my girl also told me that she was given a reading test today. Any idea whatβs happening? Tot the test is scheduled for next week? -

I thought these tests are 'Pre-test' revision exercises.Hi mummies,

Her class did theirs on a piece of paper, not in the Spelling book.
My DD also brought back the Chinese 'Revision' Test paper.
I thought it is to show them how and what they will be tested on.
I am wondering if these revision tests will also be part of the component included to compute their Term 1 scores....
As for the reading test, my DD told me there was a Chinese 'oral' test last week. Are you referring to this?
My DD told me that her class will be having Maths Pre-test tomorrow.
She also list out the areas that they will be tested on. -

For P1, the teachers will test the kids earlier on the words meant for the diagnostic test to let the kids know what to expect on the actual day & for them to practise the words. For the spelling diagnostic test, all spelling will be done on an official piece of paper, not in the spelling book. All the best. -

Haven't seen you around? Have you given birth yet?
You are absolutely right....Spelling & Chinese test papers are all pre-tests so the gals can have an idea of what to expect & identify the areas to improve on for the real diagnostic test.
Usually, marks scored in pre-tests are not included in the computation of the gals' CA1 score. I'm not sure if the above mentioned reading test for CL is the real test but for all written paper, next week's tests' marks will be taken into consideration. Marks for topical tests over the term will also be taken into consideration as well. -
Good morning everyone. i have been following the thread recently, but seems to me nothing is mention about teacher. How do you guys rate your form teachers? i feel that form teacher somehow can make or break a child in some ways or sort.we are still new to MMCS, our first year went well. i found the form teacher quite supportive specially to Mrs.Ho. I take my hat off her,she is very motherly!! is it taboo to discuss teacher behavior in this site?
