LLX, yeah, I agree it is wonderful to have 2 girls. Though my 2 girls like to bicker at times but after that they will still be good friends :snuggles: Your 2 dds can even share textbooks!
Oh, it slipped my mind on the textbooks. Haha, thanks for reminding me I can save some bucks this year. I remembered spending $400++ on getting my dd1 school stuffs!
120+++ plus for uniforms, socks.
120+++ plus for school books, files etc
50 plus for 2 sets of shoes
100 for school bag, pencil case, stationaries, lunch bag, etc...
Actually I already scrimp on necessaries only
bet some parents could have spent more..

Hi michyms and Tinkerbelle,
Tks for asking, our DD2 is doing fine now, she is a little impatient to get off 'soft diet' and she is active and speaking much more now (after the 1st two days of not speaking much :)). She's got a few more days of anti-biotics to finish. Generally doing fine. She is enjoying the ice-cream sessions :), at least 3 times a day :). She says she does not feel any pain anymore, which is good. However, we still keep her indoors to avoid her catching a cough or cold from crowded places. A cough or a cold may cause the operative site to bleed. She understands that, so she is fine with that.
I have called up MCS and was told that we will only get to know in about October or November if our DD2 is exempted from MT.
Have a nice day! -
Tinkerbelle:
There will not be a test during Orientation Day for P1.michyms:
Anyone know if there will be a test for the kids during Orientation? I wasn't even thinking of bringing dd
Don't know about the test, but I heard from others that during orientation, the kid will meet her classmates and teacher, if I'm not wrong?
Tinkerbelle, LLX, Can'tbearit, Miffy, can tell us what to expect during MCS orientation?
Basically, when you report to sch for orientation, drop your gals off at the foyer according to their allocated class. There'll be prefects and teachers to assist you and all classes are clearly labelled on placards.
The prefects will take care of the gals and direct them to their respective classes to meet their form teachers and classmates. There'll be a walk-about the sch and the prefects will show them where the toilets, canteen etc are. Subsequently, the gals will watch some performances by various CCA groups in the hall.
After dropping your gals off at the foyer, parents will head to the hall for the Principals's talk about the sch's programmes and watch some performances by various CCA groups. Following that, parents will be directed to their DDs' classrooms to fill in dental forms, catechism forms, Giro forms etc. Once all the paper work is done, parents will then proceed to the hall to pick their daughters up.
Hope this gives you an idea of what to expect that day. Have fun meeting other parents.
Thanks for the detailed sharing! I'm really excited just hearing about it.

Tinkerbelle, your girl brings her lunch to school? I wonder if its necessary to get those ergonomic kind of school bag. But that's really super expensive! -
Hi michyms,
Do you know if the P1s are using My Pals Are Here Maths for MCS? A friend would like to pass her son's P1 textbooks to me. Am wondering if I should have them. Don't want to keep too many books around.
Tks for info. -
Tinkerbelle, the idea that there isnβt enough time to learn all the P6 stuff is really scary! Do you have to teach your dd alot on your own?
