      Hi michyms,
Yes, the year has really gone by too quickly...
The sch gets external vendors in to conduct supplementary lessons for the P6 gals plus teachers are also giving them lots of past year papers so she's super busy. We treat these as some form of revision.
However, she doesn't think she's ready for prelims yet. Will be doing intensive revision this weekend....keke. Better late than never. πŸ˜‚
Wow external vendors! Is it like tuition teachers? Or enrichment centers to conduct the extra lessons? Yes better late than never. I was still cramming the night before my PSLE exams if I didn't recall wrongly πŸ˜“ Which secondary school is your dd and her friends aiming for?

        Hi michyms,
Ya...the sch engages an enrichment centre to conduct extra lessons for the gals but it's not compulsory. Some gals chose not to attend as they have their own tuition or enrichment lessons.
These are some of the common schs DD and most of her classmates are aiming for: St Nic, SCGS, Cedar, NJC and RGS. πŸ˜‰

Sounds like good choices to me! Is the IP programme at RI also an option that MCS girls consider? I hope your dd will get into one of above. Do they pick schools before or after PSLE results are announced?

                  Hi michyms,
Thanks for your well wishes. πŸ˜‚

Rl's IP programme only admits girls in Year5-6. Year 1-4 is only for boys. On other words, gals from RGS Yr 4 will proceed to RI Yr 5 for their IP prog.

The kids will select their sch of choice after PSLE based on their T-score. Some kids who have applied for DSA (direct sch admission) via academics or CCA may already have confirmed offers from their sec sch of choice before PSLE. πŸ˜‚

Hi all MCS & MCS-to-be parents,

PLEASE HELP VOTE FOR OUR MCS GALS IN THE PESA AWARDS TO VIE FOR 'THE MOST POPULAR SPEAKER'.

PESA is a national oratorical contest organized by YMCA in partnership with MOE, NLB and SGEM. Contestants from all over Singapore go through a Preliminary Round first. 16 contestants with the highest scores move on to the Semi-Finals. 8 contestants with the highest scores proceed to the finals and they will vie for the top 3 positions.

This year, the PESA Finals was held on 17 August 2011 and Senthilkumar Abhiramalakshmi (P5) came in 3rd in the Upper Primary category. In addition, both Siddhi Narayan (P2) and Abhiramalakshmi (P5) will receive the Silver Honour Roll, awarded to finalists with scores that range between 81 and 90.

There is an online voting segment -- \"Most Popular Speaker\". This year, the organizer is using Facebook as the voting platform. The contestant with the highest number of \"Likes\" for each of the categories will receive the \"Most Popular Speaker\" award at the PESA Awards Ceremony.

                    Steps:
                    1. Click on the link for the online voting:
                    https://www.facebook.com/YMCA.PESA?sk=app_2392950137

                    2. Look for our girls' videos (taken during the Semi-Finals) and click on the video.

                    3. Click \"Like\". You may also leave a comment for them if you'd like (you can click \"Like\" only if you are a Facebook member).

The online voting will end on 14 September 2011 (23:59).

Thank you very much for your support!
