Good to see you back here again. Miss having you around. :hugs:
Ya, 1 more paper to go for CA tomorrow....Hooray!!! After that, can have a nice, well-deserve break. Are you planning on doing anything special during the holidays? -
hi, there all,
I am so glad that there’s stg to look forward to in the mornings and see the msg in my e-mail to prompt me to check this thread, feels like a family when i hear the friendly banter that’s going around…
I felt good, when dd’s teacher told me that i had made a great choice in mcs…
I would like to check on the black shoes for the school, preferring a more sporty version… does reebok as mentioned earlier in the thread still carry them? -
just call Student Care at MCS and talk to supervisor Mdm Chan to enquire on my DD on waiting list. She’ll call parents in Oct to setup appt to followup on admin. Pls note there’s a long queue but she’s exploring to up the intake without affecting quality of svc. Very nice lady… sounds friendly n understands my anxiety as 1st time parent.

Just wondering if CCA is compulsory for P3 gals.

Tinkerbelle:
Thanks for sharing Tinkerbelle. Do you have any thoughts on the IB programms at ACSI? Is it a popular option as well?Rl's IP programme only admits girls in Year5-6. Year 1-4 is only for boys. On other words, gals from RGS Yr 4 will proceed to RI Yr 5 for their IP prog.
The kids will select their sch of choice after PSLE based on their T-score. Some kids who have applied for DSA (direct sch admission) via academics or CCA may already have confirmed offers from their sec sch of choice before PSLE.

wimdils, I bought the sporty kind of black shoes for my dd from Bata - comes with either velcro or shoe lace...
It's nice to hear that teachers think MCS is a good choice

Hi phoenix,Tinkerbelle:
Hi phoenix,
keke...I dunno the exact dimensions but the lockers are big enough to put all your textbooks plus art block etc.
So you mean you're planning to buy 1 more set of maths and MT textbook? Social studies, Health & CME textbooks are thin so not heavy.
Only the CASCO Primay English workbook is a bit heavy.
Tinkerbelle, you're a gem!
We were planning to buy 2 sets of all the textbooks but based on your kind information, it looks like we may not need to do so. Do we need to buy a lock for the locker?
Thanks so much again for your patient and generous sharing with us newbies. :salute:
My girl is in P1 this year. For her school books, most of them are collected and kept in the classroom by her teacher. The only textbooks which she needs to bring everyday is Chinese, and Muisc and Health Education book once a week. Good thing is these 3 books are quite thin, so not to worry.

I preferred velcro type as I still haven't teach my gal how to tie shoe lace. hahaa. She will need to take off her shoes during PE and Dance sessions, so velcro type will be more convenient.wimdils, I bought the sporty kind of black shoes for my dd from Bata - comes with either velcro or shoe lace...

Don't the kids need to brig the textbooks home to study? I would want to look at it to see what she is learning and revise with her.
