Hi Jane ,
\"DD\" is Darling/Dear Daughter and \"DS\" is Darling/Dear Son. 😂
and you'll probably see\" DH\" sooner or later, that's Dear or Darling Husband. :welcome:

Hi Funkymonkey,
Thanks for your well wishes. DD mentioned the Listening compre was not difficult. Only one tricky question for CL. Now just waiting for D-Day in 13 days time. :nailbite: Not to worry, we'll be here to support you next yr when it's your DS's turn. :snuggles:

Not to worry too much about your DD's oral. With all her practice & hard work and all your encouragement, I'm sure she can do. All the best to your DD for her oral next week. :ugogirl:

hello. I'm new to Kiasu parents. my girl will be going to Marymount convent school next year. we are Eurasians and i'm wondering if i should let her study Chinese or not take any 2nd language at all. i took Chinese myself back when i was in school but it was tough and very embarrassing for me. so my dilemma is whether to let my daughter take up Chinese. Any non-Chinese families out there who is letting your daughter take Chinese?

Hi jane-lewis,
:welcome: :rahrah: :welcome:

I think it'll be good to expose your DD to Chinese. Instill interest at a young age and with lots of encouragement, your DD will enjoy Chinese. MCS has a few Indian students and students of other nationalities who take up Chinese as their second language despite their parents not speaking Chinese. 😂

If you intend to apply for exemption from MT, I think it might be a good idea for you to check with MOE regarding your DD's eligibility for exemption from MT for P1. Another MCS forummer (I think it's RainbowFairy) mentioned before that her elder DD got exemption from MT when they returned to Singapore from NZ when her DD was in P3 but her P1 DD was was not exempted from MT as she started in P1.
She has been joining dance club CCA since Jan so we are looking forward to see what she has been learning and maybe throw her some encouragements. She wants to discontinue her dance club and join other CCA next year. :bonk:

Hi LLX04,

My DD also in Dance Club and doing the performance during P1 Orientation. But too bad we won't be able to see them performing right?

Why your DD wants to discontinue? And which CCA she wants to join next year?

Hi jesyeo and LLX04,
You can go and watch your DD perform for the P1 Orientation. They'll need to perform twice that day, once for the parents and once for the P1 students.

If you watch the performance with the other P1 parents, you'll get to sit down in the hall. If you don't want to sit through the P1 orientation once again, you can come later when your DD perform for the P1 students (about 1 hour before dismissal) and stand behind the hall to watch. But parking will be an issue if you come later. Enjoy. :rahrah:
Oh that's great! Always wanted to know what has my DD been learning during her Dance club. Whenever I ask her to show the dance too me at home, she will be too shy to do it. Finally got a chance to see her dance.

Ermm..btw, when u say perform for P1 students, means those next year P1 students? During the P1 orientation last year, the school actually don't let us bring our DD along.

Hi jesyeo,
Yes, the CCA gals will perform for parents first, then for 2012 P1 students in a later session, after their sch guided tour.

Oh....your DD didn't attend her P1 Orientation last year? DD1 was on duty that day & said there were P1 students there for their Orientation last year.
