tinkerbelle, I didn't do much except take a short drive to a riding ranch in Malaysia which was fun πŸ™‚ The jump from pri to secondary level is quite big in terms in the number of subjects taken, but I am sure your dd will manage just fine!

My dd seems to be enjoying school so far. I am grateful she knows how to get onto the right school bus to come home. But the timing seems to be an adjustment as she keeps complaining of being tired after school, and even in the mornings!
      Hi michyms,
The riding ranch sounds interesting. Mind sharing where this ranch is?

Wonderful news that your DD is enjoying sch. Yes, many P1 do have to re-adjust to the longer sch hours and are usually tired. Give your DD some time....once she gets used to her new schedule, she'll be fine. The weekend is a good time to recharge :snooze:

Thanks KS Mum, I still have not bought Maths Builder 1B πŸ˜› better go and get it before it gets sold out.

michyms, you can also get Maths Builder 1B from Popular Bookshop if going back to the sch bookshop is inconvenient for you πŸ˜‚

          Hi,

Does anyone know anything about dance club and what does Art club involves? Needs enlightenment here! :scratchhead:
          Hi chubby mum,
For lower pri, dance club exposes the students to different types of dance such as Modern, Chinese, Malay, Indian and Fusion dances. They'll only specialise in either Modern or Chinese Dance from P3 onwards.

As for Art Club, they do a lot of different art projects like drawing, watre colours etc.

Just FYI, the students have to go for trials/auditions to join a CCA. Only those with potential will be selected.

            Hi,

The 'schedule of Activities' for Term 1 (MCS's calendar of events) is now available in the sch's website under the 'Download' tab.

For P1 parents' info, the 'schedule of activities' will be available every term. In an effort to save the environment, the sch will not distribute the schedule so do check the website regularly for updates.

Here's the link for Term 1's schedule.

Hi.. can the children request to go to the toilet during class time ? My DD said when she ask to go to the toilet during chinese class, the teacher said \"NO\".

                Hi KSMUM,
This really depends on individual teachers. Most teachers don't encourage students to go to the toilet during lessons but if it's really necessay (ie. when the child really can't hold on anymore), they will allow.

I would have thought P1 teachers would be more understanding. Maybe you would like to encourage your DD to go to the toilet before lessons start and during recess, just before recess ends. πŸ˜‚

Hi KSmum, my dd asked to go toilet during chinese lesson n shez allowed to go. But I do encourage her to go during recess as she may miss out tchr's instruction.

I have encouraged her to go to the toilet before she goes to the hall , before end of recess . If really needed during class time, then ask for permission to go.

Tinkerbelle, thanks for the advice. It isn't available at both popular or the school bookshop! Guess I will have to wait for the reprint. I have 6 months to secure a copy.
