Just wanted to say a big \"Thank You\" to all you mummies and daddies in this forum for your positive comments and sharing with regards to the MCS school environment. :grphug: It played a big part in us deciding to enrol our DD1 in MCS - she will be starting P1 next year.

We were initially looking at SCGS (as we are <1 km away) and were torn between MCS and SCGS. Being Catholics, we wanted a Catholic school for DD1 and DD2. On the other hand, SCGS is so near our home. But with SCGS being so over-subscribed this year (even being SC doesn't help), it was a no-brainer to go with MCS, and I think we made the right choice. Had very good vibes when we were at the school for 2B registration, and we can see DD fitting in well in her new school. 😄

If the civility and generosity present in this forum (so different from some of the other school forums) is an indication of the school environment, then we have definitely picked the right school! Looking forward to getting to know you all - thanks again! :hugs:
      H

Welcome to MCS! I am sure your dd will enjoy her time here.

I guess most parents would already know, but in case some do not - there is a dental clinic in the school providing free dental services. I sent my girl in there this morning to pull out her shaky tooth 😛

Thanks, michyms! Good to know that there’s free dental services in the school. Anything else we newbie parents should know about MCS?

Will the school contact us regarding orientation? It’s on 17 Nov @ 8:30am but other than that, no other info provided. Pardon the questions, we are going through this for the 1st time so really don’t know what to expect. TIA!

Hi, you will be receiving a letter with all the details closer to orientation date. On orientation day, there will be a talk by the principal then you will be ushered into the classrooms to fill in a deck of forms (it was alot of forms I recall). Along with the letter, there will be details on the ordering of uniforms and textbooks. All these happen around November 🙂

Errrr....it was handwritten on the registration form (blue copy) that the school mailed back to us after P2B had ended, to confirm that we got a place. We received it about a week after the registration. You should be getting it, too...I think...

Our form states that orientation is at 8:30am on 17 Nov (Sat), with registration starting from 8am.

Phase 2B applicants would have received the confirmation by now, whereas phae 2C would be another week or so I believe.

                      Studious Alien:
Just found out that an accident involving a P4 girl took place at MCS. She supposedly knocked into a pillar in the parade ground and suffered various injuries such as a broken nose and cheeckbone. Eyewitnesses have said that she bled a lot. I have also seen that the pillar which she knocked into has a sticky tape stuck on it which I have heard that it was to cover a crack on the pillar. There were also some blood stains left at the scene...

Very scary :nailbite: I hope that she will recover soon. 😕

                      P.S. I'm a student 🙂
ah! hope that poor kid is better.

                        Hi all,

I have called e sch regarding the change in upgrading plans. Yes it has been confirmed on e holding site (1st Toa Payoh). However MCS can't confirm on when ey r gg single session as ey r not sure if the holding site has enough capacity. :scratchhead:

For parents wif kids in student care like myself, e student care can't b sure ey r moving together wif MCS to e holding site. E person in charge juz mentioned tat most likely ey will move whr e sch is. :nailbite:

These r some uncertainties which parents may wish to take note of.
hi thanks for the update. hope they give firmer details earlier than later.
