happymom2:
my DD1 is an average kid but she sure enjoys gg to sch.
Sounds good! It must be an interesting class if your DD likes it. Thanks, cantbearit2, for sharing the info. The thing that strikes me after reading many of the parents' comments here, is that MCS has many happy kidscantbearit2:
Hi happymom2,
In MCS, catechism is held on wed. My DD is attending it even though we r not catholics. It is optional & held b4 sch time. Thus for those who wish to attend, ey will have to reach sch earlier on every wed & bring e bible along. So far, my DD is enjoying e lessons so we juz let her continue.

Yes it's indeed nice to know many happy kids loving school. A lot of assurance for me.
hope to meet some of you during orientation! -
my dd is in dance club. and she’s sooo excited to perform for all the P1s coming in next year! What a great welcome!
wow seems like yesterday, that we were agonizing over the P1 registration this time last year… this year’s her first National Day as a MCS girl. I have never seen her jump out of bed so fast this morning, eager to take part in the school’s celebrations… -
Hi mummies
I’m so relief to hear that the girls enjoy their schooling at MCS. Actually i was quite worried cos i went to MCS website & not much information given.
Hi wimdils
Your dd so cute. she join (dance club) cca in P1? -
Dear all,
Wondering if anyone here could provide info on MCS students care service? Both of us are working and we do not have maid or grandparents to pick up my gal after school. -
Hi mommies of MCS
Just wondering if anyone has registered their girls at P1 to gymnastics? Or other CCAs? Understand P1s are optional to these. And by opting in, that is to gymnastics, in my case, will it be automatically in? Or have to go through audition?
Is having CCAs at P1 too mich to handle for a new Primary student? Hope anyone can give some advice.
Thanks in advance! :please: -

Glad that you asked this question.
There is no 'audition' per se given that all girls go through some forms of exposure during their PE lessons. For those who have the aptitude for gym, the teachers will single them out i.e. like those who can bend very well and are flexible. They will be identified and a letter will be given to the parents asking consent to further this sport through specialised CCA.
Just some other info, if you are interested: Commendation letter for DSA will only be given for those who have been in the school team from P4-P6 with at least 90% of attendance (or 80% I cannot remember). There are obviously some schools which excel in gym (artistic: SCGS, MGS; rhythmic: St Nick, RGS, CHIJ, St Marg).
If you do trace back a few pages through this forum, you will see more responses from the various parents on this.
Happy National Day! :rahrah: -
Thanks so much hoylj!
So in your opinion, is going for CCA at p1 too much time spent in sch (cos Im working too already struggling for time with her k2 home work and spellings already!)? Not forgetting she may have extra enrichment outside MCS hours too.
I’m tying to plan her schedule so she has space and time to let loose too. But I knw she will like the extra CCAs. Dillema.

Not easy answer as it depends on the individual. My kid is usually tired out on gym days since it starts about 930 am. So doing homework after she gets back from school on those days can be tough. But she seems to be having fun, so we let it be.Thanks so much hoylj!
