HiHi MCS mommies and daddies,
Anyone can shed some light on whether we need to purchase the uniforms, books etc on the day of orientation? Also, any other things that we should take note of?
Thanks...
Unless things have changed, we get book list, uniform form, on orientation day. The little princess would be ushered to the hall where the older kids would put up a show for them e.g. art or rhym gym, while parents go to the classrooms to fill up GIRO and other personal particulars forms.
Uniforms are bought later from the Toa Payoh shop behind CHIJ. Pay up and then collect tee-shirts with names sewn on them at a later date. Books can be bought online and delivered to the house, or can head down to the school bookshop only on certain days in Dec.
This is the link to what happened last year, just browse along untill the pages when school started this year for info on uniforms, books, school bus, student care centre. Hopefully the info is still relevant for now

Hi MCS mommies and daddies,
A colleague told me her DD’s school (a quite famous one in Yishun, can’t recall the name…) require the new 2013 P1 students to go attend some "orientation classes/programs" organized by the school for a week in early December. This is the first time I have heard of such thing and I am wondering if MCS also has anything similar to this? -
Hello ohdaddy
Thanks for the info. -

Ya, indeed! Quite a bit of pressure being built up. This year's Maths paper seems to be easier. So cut off point for secondary schools may be raised. 3 more papers to go for those who still have Higher Mother Tongue! 4th October is Children's Day celebrations. Yippee Doo! Mommy can rest then...Hello mummies & daddies
