      IrEnE06:
any of you subscribe to Young Scientists? Is it beneficial?

      Hi IrEnE06

This thread has discussions on this magazine.

      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11369&p=917043&hilit=young+scientists#p917043

It used to be among the list of magazines that PCPS students can order from the book vendors who set up book sales stores in school. It is a fun magazine to read. Both boys and girls seem to enjoy it. Popular used to sell the previous year's entire mag collection in a box set but the last I looked was 2 years ago. IMHO could be useful to generate interest in science and with the broad based syllabus this is a \"safe\" resource to stimulate unsupervised self learning for lower pri students.

I subscribed for my kid n he enjoys reading them n often laughing to himself while reading. Although the mag is largely comics-based, the content is pretty informative. My son also likes to tell me what he has read eg \"Mummy,do u kn goats hv rectangular shaped pupils?\"..

However Pei Chun is not one of e schools that is offering YS subscription so you may hv to get it directly fr YS.

            Hi mummies

I saw a consent form for MRL CCA starting from 16 Jan 12.30 to 1.30 pm. Does any parent have any clue what this is all about?

                  Joajoa,

The slides will be posted on the school website. Talk covered p1 curriculum by the various subject heads. I felt the attendance rate was only abt 60 to 70%. Another p1 talk is scheduled on 2 march. It will cover maths model method and Chinese Hanyu pinyin.

Hi mummyv and iLoveChubby, can I check if young scientists have been renamed to science adventures this year? I went popular just now to check the 2012 series but they do not carry. The popular staff then gave me an order form and said that young scientists magazine has been renamed. But when i called Young Scientists, they said they did not rename. Can advise pls?
