The popular staff then gave me an order form and said that young scientists magazine has been renamed. But when i called Young Scientists, they said they did not rename. Can advise pls?

There was a dispute between Young Scientist and their distributor. The disti eventually marketed their own magazine. Young Scientist is still available. However, I hv not bought either for 2 yrs now so I cannot conclude which is better. This thread has the story of the \"fallout\"

I saw a consent form for MRL CCA starting from 16 Jan 12.30 to 1.30 pm. Does any parent have any clue what this is all about?

Hi bridesep! :hugs: I can understand yr concerns on logistics and staying on own in school.. maybe can talk to FT or CCA head and ensure someone make DS go to library while waiting for CCA, make it a routine for the 1st few weeks/mths , then tell him is a compulsory arrangement fm school? hope this helps... sometimes i resort to \"lies\" to ensure my kids listen to me!

btw what's MRL CCA??

You have to contact Young Scientist directly if you want to subscribe to 2013 issues or buy their past issues.
I thk Popular staff are either truly ignorant abt it or they have been told to tell customers that.
I was too one of the customers who was not pleased with the distributor's way of handling their marketing tactics. However my DS (like many kids out there) still prefers YS after comparing with the new mag.

YS is not renamed... Science Adventures is a different magazine. The main difference is that they have changed the distributor...

My boy bring back a book and he will be having Chinese spelling . He is in P1 , the Chinese spelling is all in han Yu pin yin . So he will be test on that right ? Teacher will read the Chinese word but pupils will write in han Yu pin yin right ?

Is it possible to buy loose copies?? I think we have to subscribe for 12 months if we order online right??

Yes that's the website.

You hv to subscribe to 10 issues (not 12) once order online, no loose copies.
However because of the recent saga (over SA & YS), they allow customers to send them a self-addressed envelope to get the last #122 copy but i m not sure if the mags are still available or not.

MRLC stands for Media Resource Library, essentially helping out in the library. The teacher is trying to keep him occupied while waiting for vb practice. We just received notification that vb cca is now changed to Thu at 1.30 pm and not Thu. As we cannot make it on Thu, the teacher has kindly offered to allow my son to go for Fri, though fit is meant for p4,5 and 6. Can see that the teacher is v nice and trying to accommodate. She even apologised for the inconvenience when it is actuallu us who is causing all the issues.
