Sounds interesting!! But my girl didn't say a thing about this... will ask her tonight...
Hi brownie,brownie_06:
My boy kept mentioning about a pilot/instructor came to school and gave a talk about flying on Friday during assembly. Did any of your kids mention that? He even copied a URL into his diary, http://www.theaeroplane but apparently, it is not the correct URL. Anyone knows the correct link?
Thanks in advance.
It's http://www.theairplaneguy.org. My gg told me there will b a paper plane flying competition in sch but ask her when she forgot . Think last yr sch had this competition too -

My girl is in 1F.My son is in class 1B. I agree with hotspurs that class 1B hardly brings their work for us to check. In fact, they hardly have any homework. I have also not heard / seen anything about wordbank.
For English, there were grammer topics covered from units 1 to 4. We need to revise that as well. Does anyone know if the teachers will return the SBA worksheets?
I remember the English HOD told us we need to buy the Grammar book which is to be used till P2 but todate, we have not heard anything yet. The SBA worksheet actually makes reference to the book.
Has any parent heard anything about the Grammer Book ?
We have gotten the grammar book about one month ago... and I think some homework has also been done in the grammar book. You may wish to check with the English teacher about this...
Hardly have any homework?? My girl has homework almost daily and slightly more over the weekends... This is so strange... why the classes differ so much in the progress and the workloads?? -

For Math, I will be using the assessments which I bought from POPULAR. Some are by topics so I will get her to do the topics that are covered in school... then maybe do a test on all topics from one of the assessments too...Hi to all P1 parents.
As we all know, MA1 is approaching. Although we have the scope of the test, any ideas/ suggestions on how we can better prepare our kids?
For example English - they will be tested on the first 4 books, but what will we use to revise? Similarly for math, the scope is numbers 1-10 but what do we revise?
My girl in class 1B, she hardly brings back her math & eng activity workbook etc, as such I do not know where she has progressed to???
any suggestions? my fren told me to start buying other school's exam paper to start practicing but I am reserving that option for now. What are your views? Thanks
Similiarly for chinese, will get her to practise the assessment books...
English is the one I think need to really see what to revise, so far I only do simple topics like present & past tenses, plural and singular etc... then did a bit of Vocab and compre...

Have you pple received the notice for MA and the latest on Ch reading review? I have only seen these notices online…
SBA handouts. My son has them all. Teacher returns each one after all corrections completed. Also have a no. of maths worksheets. Agree that 1B parents may want to ask teacher so that have some idea of what has been done in class.
Problem sums i find not so straightfoward. Quite tricky. There was one (class work) which said 2 persons had x no. altogether. Person A has 3 more. Then asked how many Person B has (ie. the one with fewer). -

I agree that 1F had quite a fair bit of homework, especially Maths activity book. Hmm....I am wondering whether is it due to the fact that the class did not have enough time to complete them in class and hence the book was brought home to be completed as homework. As of last week, I knew some classes had already started Ordinal Numbers and 1F was asked to complete the page till the page just before Ordinal Numbers.

Hmm...1F does not have such tricky problem sum (Or the worksheet not returned to be filed). So far, they have completed 4 worksheet. (Right hand corner of the worksheet for Maths - T1/M4) -

Hi Callie
For the aeroplane thingy, my son shared that he was told to go to internet and check on the video section on how to fold aeroplane. They need to submit their aeroplane before 2 March. He did not say that it was \"flying\" competition. He just said that \"teacher will choose the 3 best aeroplane\". -
Actually what’s the main difference between MA & CA?
-
I just read the handouts on MA. I still can’t be sure whether there will be any problem sums… Although the handouts stated short/structured qns only from MA 2 onwards…
-
My girl said they are given the website to check out but she cannot remember anything about submitting an aeroplane before 2 march... Aiyo, so how?
