Hi Parent,
Any Goods P1 English, Maths & Chinese Assessment Books to recommend ? :please: Thanks. -
Hi Berry,
I like Step by Step Maths (EPH). Looking at how the recent PC MA included a no. of higher order thinking questions, I'm checking out Challenging Maths too (EPH). Andrew Er I think is good for drilling, but i find some of the assessment books bit simple.
For English, I focus mainly on grammar especially in context i.e. prefer close passage over MCQs or short questions. I particularly like Longman, Topical Practice. Vocab, I prefer for him to pick up through reading. I dont have any assessments books for compo or compre, at least not yet!
Chinese, my kid is attending Hua Language Ctr. We dont do so much assessment books with him. :boogie: -
Hi all,
In addition to assessment books, I find doing past year papers very useful as well. At least the child is exposed to actual test questions and environment (time limit). Doing papers of other schools, you can sometimes notice trends of commonly-asked questions. More importantly, you can practice on past Pei chun papers and hope that some questions get recycled. -
Hi hi,
Does any parent know whether we’ll be getting a report card for P1s ? Juz curious. -
Received the timing for the Meet the Parent Session. Apparently, we are allocated to 10 mins only so do we only meet the form teacher? Any parents with past experience can advise.
Thanks. -

By right it's 10 mins. By left erm depends on the teacher, if he/she is able to persuade the parent(s) to leave amiably.Received the timing for the Meet the Parent Session. Apparently, we are allocated to 10 mins only so do we only meet the form teacher? Any parents with past experience can advise.

Thanks for the reply, Mr. Alvin Chong. Can I also check with you are we meeting the form teacher only? Do we get to talk with the Chinese teacher too?
