Hi , my questions may sound silly but can I check :


1) P1 starts at 10am… for those working parents … how u going to send ur kids to school at 10?

2) is there student card service in the school? How’s the student care ? Good ?

Hope any parents can help me … we are sourcing for primary school now

I graduated from Admiralty Primary in 2014 and I am currently an EXCO member of the ADMPS Youth Alumni. I will try to provide a detailed overview of the school culture and student life to the best of my knowledge.


1) Facilities: The school’s new Indoor Sports Hall and Indoor Parade Square recently finished construction in 2018. Apart from that, a new Classroom Block was also constructed to cater to the single session. We have three computer labs, two science labs, two art rooms, a dance studio, a music room, a library, and a multi-purpose hall. The canteen is located below the hall and has about six stalls selling great food (mark my words, the food really is good!). There are also two interconnected PAL rooms - formerly known as the AVA room - to conduct co-curricular activities for the P1 and P2 students. The eco-garden situated in the centre of the school was and is still my favourite place in the school. Behind the school, there are several fruit trees. We used to spend recess chasing each other around these gardens, playing hide and seek, and exploring the grounds of the school. There also used to be a Wayang Stage in front of the classroom block: not sure if it’s still around. And of course, we have a full-sized fenced up soccer field, the highlight for many sports loving kids in ADMPS.

2) Teachers, teaching style and academic results: There are many exemplary teachers in ADMPS, with many of them producing stellar students. The teachers I have met are caring yet strict, friendly yet firm, even while they conduct lessons I will remember for life. Even though teaching styles vary by teacher, one thing is for sure: Every student will be able to realise his or her strengths, and their full potential will be brought out. To cite a few examples, for the PSLE, ADMPS has maintained a 100% pass rate from 2014 to now. This year, 10% of students achieved 250 and above for their PSLE scores, from 4.52% of students achieving the same in 2012. The Principal has also declared that the school will be embarking on a new policy to encourage high-performing P4 students to take up Higher Mother Tongue. From this, it is evident that ADMPS has one of the highest standards of education in the area, with results that match up to schools traditionally labelled as "branded". It is no wonder that many parents in the North try to put their kids in ADMPS. (Source: Principal’s slides during 2018 Graduation Ceremony)

3) Other Academic Activities: Students are given opportunities to participate in the UNSW (University of New South Wales) Assessments every year. Selected students participate in the Math Olympiad and Science Olympiad, and there are many other opportunities for students who have talents in every domain. Programmes such as Math Carnivals, Science Fairs, Chinese Learning Journeys and English Reader Programmes are provided for all students. For students who need extra help, Learning Support Programmes are in place for every level. There is also a Study Room programme for P6 students so that they can prepare for the PSLE in a conducive environment.

4) Co-curricular Activities and Enrichment: P1 and P2 students enjoy a holistic co-curriculum newly introduced by MOE known as PAL, or Programme for Active Learning. It involves two broad modules, the arts - visual arts, performing arts (drama) and music, and sports - sports and games, outdoor education, health education. P3 to P6 students participate in a CCA of their choice. P3 students have swimming lessons, while P4 students have an adventure camp and a museum experience. Overseas Learning Journeys (OLJs) are conducted every year for P5 students. In the PE domain, students are exposed to dance and gymnastics even as they focus on the core curriculum of outdoor and health education, and athletics. In the Art domain, students are intoduced to Chinese, Malay and Indian as well as global art forms, while picking up novel skills such as digital art and 3D clay art. At the end of the year, P6 students learn how to run a business through the Junior Entrepreneurship Programme (JEP), while P1 to P5 students get to participate in the bazaar. The P6 students would prepare stalls, booths, haunted houses and other stuff for the P1 to P5 students to spend school-issued coupons on. The money collected from the sale of coupons are then distributed to needy students. In the last three years, the Alumni has participated in JEP as well.

5) Special Occasions: Cultural celebrations are held with much fanfare every year, from CNY to Deepavali. Events such as National Day, Teacher’s Day and Children’s Day are also huge affairs. Every year, the school holds a Mid-Autumn Festival for the youngest students and their parents. Alumni members are also invited to return for Teacher’s Day Celebrations every year.

6) Alumni and PSG: The ADMPS Alumni and Youth Alumni was founded in 2016, and since then the students of every graduating batch automatically join the Alumni. ADMPS also has very strong support from the PSG (Parent Support Group), who have been extremely active contributors since the beginning. To my knowledge, you can join the PSG once your child is accepted in the school.

Overall, ADMPS is one of the premier schools of the north, and one of the few neighbourhood primary schools that rank amongst the elite schools. My parents had to volunteer in the PSG for two years to secure a spot even though we lived within 1km of the school and we are all Singapore Citizens by birth, which is a clear indicator of the school’s prestige amongst schools in the North. It is not easy to get in, but I assure you it is worth it.

Thanks for sharing , and Admiralty Pri School is indeed a very good choice school for this region and very good go see an Alumni who shared their school with pride.

While I am very keen to put my Son in your school , but I missed the PV phase and thus can only go in with 2C within 1km.

I am hoping if someone has the statistics for past year registeration for SC kids within 1km under phase 2c. Need to take a very hard decision as we have secured a very good Hokkien Huay kuay school under earlier phase . For the well being for my Son, shorter travelling time, Admiralty is definitely my TOP choice as we are just 5min away.

So far balloting only for SG due to demand. Aim for other schools.
