Kinderland

Hi, i would like to know more about Kinderland SP, Pandan Valley and SIM as well. Please help! Urgent! Thanks!
-
Just received notification that Kinderland Serangoon will increase their fees from $1290 to $1610, effective Term 3 2012 :yikes:
Anyone also affected?
Honestly, this is a big jump compared to the last fee revision. And I don't see any big improvement to the current school curriculum. It might be justifiable if they are also willing to increase the school hours from a 3-hour program to a 4-hour program. What do you think? -
Hi. My girl is from Kinderland Yio Chu Kang. Likewise, I have received a letter with regards to the revision of the school fees. I actually called the principal up and express my displeasure.
1) Fee increase is drastic.
2) Timing of fee revision is untimely.
I feel that they should at least do it at the end of the year and inform the parents much earlier so that alternative plans can be considered.
I hope I am not the only one that think this way and many others would and sound out.
Hope to hear more voices. -
My gal just withdrawn from Kinderland starting this term as I've got her a place at another Kindergarden, and now heard from mummy of her ex-classmate that there's a increase of $280 from next term.
Now think many mummy from her previous kindy at kinderland will be looking for place elsewhere cos the increase is so drastic.
They should have done it starting beginning of the year so pp can be prepare whether to continue the new term or search for other school.

Totally agree with you, xiaobee & guillemard. The fee hike totally caught us offguard! I have also wrote in to complain but havenβt receive any reply from the school so farβ¦

Hi everyone, I am also affected by the fee increase.
I feel trapped as it is the middle of the year and it is extremely difficult to find another school for my child at this time. Also, my girl in K1 is already settled in and it is very difficult to pull her out at this time.
Probably the more reasonable approach would be for Kinderland to implement the fee only in 2013, and allow parents more time to find alternative arrangements.
My older son has graduated from Kinderland. If he were still in the school, I'd be hit TWICE.
I imagine that parents who have twins, or siblings in the school would be hard-hit. The 10% rebate given for siblings is nothing compared to the almost 25% increase in fees.
I hope that parents will consider writing in to the school, politely of course, and sharing their disappointments with the upper management, owners of Kinderland.
We can only hope that the management will consider the parents' point of view. Unfortunately, this sudden high fee increase has marred my impression of the school as a whole. As a parent, I doubt I can recommend Kinderland to my friends and relatives in the future. -
My girl is in K1 this year at Yio Chu Kang. I am currently caught in a dilemma because I am currently 39 weeks pregnant! 1.5 years to go for my girl. Changing school for my girl is probably the last thing on my mind right now because it's too cruel! Yet I am not willing to accept this fee increase because I don't see any improvement in quality of teacher, curriculum or anything at all. It's totally ridiculous! I thought they just increased it beginning of last year? Untimely and atrocious. What should I do? Stay put or move?

I agree with you that it is too cruel to pluck your girl out of her school right now.
There was an increase before....i need to double-check exactly when it was implemented.
Maybe before you make any decisions, you can talk to the principal, and write a letter in to express your thoughts and opinions about this matter.
Take care of yourself. Don't let this affect your baby

My girl is already settled down and happy in school with her clique of friends and all. She needs to deal with having a new sibling(after being an only child for the past 4 years plus) in due time. I am also not exactly in the best state to go school hunting with her at the moment. I just feel angry with the school for making such a decision at this time of the year. Now I am in such a dilemma...
Yes! I forgot when was it exactly but I remember there was an increase not too long ago.
I have already sent an email to the principal. Waiting for her reply. Even if nothing can be done about the increase in school fees, I hope they at least extent the school hours or something to make me feel what I am going to pay for is justified.
Yup, right now I am going to concentrate on delivering my baby and completing my confinement before anything else. -
Of course, nobody likes to price increases. We do not see our salary increase 25% but a meagre 2%; on top of facing inflation of 4% . Our electricity bills have gone up a lot and I believe childcare centres / kindergartens (every franchise) also faced increase electricity bills and in the papers they cited better quality of teachers & shortage of teachers.
$320 increase is per term. Per term is approx 3 months, meaning about $100 increase per month. Per month fees is $536. Pls correct me if I am wrong. And if childcare, there is $300 per month govt subsidy.
