Northland Primary

Mommies with kids in Northland and in student care.
May I know which student care are your kids in? What is your feedback regarding that student care?
Thanks for feedback !

Hi
I put my 2 kids in the (Child care cum) Student Care at Blk 6x8.
It is their old child care centre so I guess it is just a natural progression for them.
My advise is to pick a Student Care that is near home or school.
My DD stay back after school (2 out of 5 days) for additional classes and other activities. Some times, she goes back to the centre to put her bag or have quick lunch then goes for additional class.
And also it is easier for them to get to and fro school. No transport needed.
Just my 2 cents worth. -
Hi all,
Need some advice.
I bought Canopy EC. Looking at the progress now, the estimated TOP will be around Q2 next year.
My eldest girl will be in P1 next year, which means I have to register her this July/Aug.
I’d like to consider Northland(will try my luck in P2C) but the problem now is I’m still staying at Pasir Ris. Had checked with the Comfort bus but they do not have service form pasir ris to Yishun. Haiz.
Any suggestion?
If my girl studies in Pasir ris, end up i still have to do transfer after we move to Yishun.
Kindly advise. Thanks -
Hv u consider renting a premises nearby?
Do u drive? If not taking taxi is an option.
I used to travel fr aljunied bk to holland during my P4s…
D journey took me an hr on bus 155!! -
Thanks longmao.irene for reply.
My hubby is driving but the problem is we are both working in pasir ris.
However P1 in Northland is PM session. By 11.45am must reach school for assembly.
I ever try to persuade my hubby to send her by taking time off one hr but it will affect his work…
I also think of asking my helper to send her to school while we fetch her in the evening time(but we work till 6pm). And we afraid we might not in time to fetch her due to heavy traffic on SLE.
Sigh… -
Hi TSL,
Problem is, since your registered address is in PR, you may not even get a chance to ballot in P2C as they look at your registered address to determine home-school distance…
Best is still register for a school in PR and do a transfer later on… Though tfr to Northland may be difficult… -
Hi 3greatkids,
Thanks for your advice.
Actually I had checked on MOE website that I can use the Sales & purchase agreement of The Canopy EC to register in Yishun.
Yes. I know that the chance of transferring to Northland after P1 study in Pasir ris primary is very low. That’s why I’m in dilemma whether to try my luck on Northland during Phase 2C.
But the problem now is sending/fetching issue. -
TSL:
Hi TSL, you can try putting her in student care near Northland or hire a nanny near Northland until Canopy is ready for moving in. But which means every morning its a mad rush from PR (home) -> Yishun -> PR (office)Hi 3greatkids,
Thanks for your advice.

Hi leo,
Thanks for the suggestion.
True that it’s very rush every morning…also not very good for my eldest girl…haiz…
I think I will most probably register her in PR primary school(Elias Park Primary is just downstair my HDB block, now I’m a bit regret of getting Canopy EC…)…then after Canopy TOP, do the school transfer(I guess it’s super low chance getting into Northland as I do not think there will be any pupil withdraw during P1~P2 lor)…
then if this is the case, I will transfer her to Northview Primary…just behind Canopy EC… -
Hi TSL,
Actually, personally I feel that Northview is a good school as well... I initially thought of registering my daughter there but Northland is just nextblock away so i reg Northland instead. You can visit their website and you can see the school focuses alot on Character development, which I think is really good and they appeared on newspaper for innovative teaching(or something like that) as well. Just my two cents worth
Good luck in whatever you decide!
