Not sure if this is a right thread to post this, but just in case anyone is interested, NAFA has released the schedules for its Nov/Dec vacation programmes. There is ceramic workshop, chinese painting, clay modelling, etc. etc. Can check with NAFA Junior Art Department if interested.

Welcome to the Kids Art's family! I hope your kid will enjoy the lessons as much as mine do.

Yup, watch out for the art exhibition. The teachers will also be putting up pieces of their works.

Another big event to look forward to is the year end camp. They have already started planning for it. From what kassie told me, it's gonna to be a big hit with the kids.

Yup, already pencil in the exhibition date in my calendar. DS1 has only attended 3 lessons so not sure how much he loves it.

There is a Halloween party on 31 Oct.

Btw do you know the dates for the holiday camp? Thanks.

Re the camp -
If I'm not wrong, it's gonna be a 3-days program for the camp this year. The theme this year is nowhere near angelic but most kids will love it. My kids have already bugged me to sign them up for the camp. Date wise, they are still working on it. Hopefully, they will be releasing more information soon. :please:

I hope that there is no misunderstanding that I’m trying to promote Kids Art as the only good Art school around. Each and every Art school has its strengths and niche markets. One has to decide which school serves his/her child’s needs best.


In fact, Kids Art may not be suitable for some kids. For weeks, the student may have to work on a similar piece of work till he/she gets it right. Kids who detest repetitive work may find the lessons tedious. And unlike most other Art schools, students of Kids Art do not have something spectacular to bring home every lesson. However, if a child can stay through the programs with Kids Art, he/she might gain something more than just the weekly pieces of completed works at the end of the day (JMHO).

Therefore, parents have to evaluate carefully if there is a good fit between their children and the schools.

No such misunderstanding with me, here chamonix.
Niwae, KiasuParents is a platform for us parents to share
our thoughts and experiences when it comes to selecting
of schools... or programmes for our kiddes.

When we have actually tried it out, we are the best people
who can give no holds barred and all truth be told kinda
feedback to others who are looking into similar programmes.
It's more genuine.

For me personally, if not for your input with regards to Kids
Art, i may never have known that there were schools out
there that actually emphasize on the proper drawing process..
the technique.. and the skill that children can develop other
than just plain copy-what-teacher-does and teacher-will-help
to-expand-from-there.. JMHO.

And since this was a good fit for me in what i like my girls to learn
in an art class, thanks to you chamonix and your honest sharings,

I would also like to thank you for your recommendation. Based on that I went to check out the place, talked to the staff and decided that it's worth a try. I belive we have a responsibility to assess if what is recommended is suitable for our kids. The purpose of sharing is to provide information to other parents who may not be aware. If we go along this line then your fears are unfounded.
