But the thing is, I dun even know if I shld put nj cus I dun really have a good impression of it and didn't go for the openhouse, so I wanna know abt both's sch's culture to decide if I will put which schxpeanutbutterx:
Hi, can someone provide me with some advice?>< I got 9points raw and 5 points nett, I am undecided between tjc and njc:( I am not considering distance cus distance is not exactly a problem. I am interested to know more abt the culture and environment of each sch to make up my mind>< hmm I am currently more interested in tjc as I went to the openhouse and really liked the sch. I didn't go for the nj one so I'm not sure abt the culture and stuff:( I would really appreciate if someone can tell me more abt both schs! Thanks!!(:
Put njc as first choice (so you will get a higher chance at appealing), if you don't get into nj (cause the cut off is partial five), you will still get into tjc anyways.

I believe the choice is only taken into account for people with L1R5 which is the same as the COP. Other than taking into account grades and all that, I think the person who has 6 points and put TJC as first choice has a higher chance than a person who also has 6 points but put TJC as fourth choice or something.
Oh but tjc's cop is 6 not 5...so will the person still stand a chance if its not by merit? Hehe cus I same case here, going to put vj then tj(:cassia:
For allocation of JC, I wonder if it's the same as Sec 1 Posting, where MOE allocates places by merit. That means, for example, opting for all Science Stream,
Choice 1 : VJC
Choice 2 : TJC
Choice 3 : MJC
With nett of 5 pts, pupil X doesn't qualify for Choice 1 as VJ's COP is 4. By merit, she should be posted into TJC as its COP is 5.
However, if allocation is not by merit, but by order of priority also, with high demands of many opting TJC, even 6 & 7 pointers as Choice 1, then pupil X will not stand a chance anymore, having places TJC as 2nd choice. So she may get only her 3rd or even last few choices? -

schools have different cultures meh?? o-o
Of course they do. Obviously, all JCs will make students work hard but beyond that there definitely is a variation in school culture. Try interacting with people across the various JCs and see for yourself.
Btw, Class of 2010 Hwa Chong alumnus here who is happy to take questions on HC
(or more generally, A levels, Uni etc)
So should I go to njc or sajc??? Is the travelling time Worth it, or is it better to stay with my current friends??? -

hello~
iâm in a major dilemma as to whether i should choose mjc or tjcâŚ
My raw L1R5 is 10, Nett is 6.
MJC seems more fun and exciting than TJC judging from their open house.
But many people are telling me to choose TJC mainly because of their reputation.
What should I do?

And errr.... Another's thing I'm concerned about is the teachers there. Are yet dedicated and will they provide help to the weaker students???( because I'm a slow learner.) -

Hmm tjc is obviously a much better sch since it is a top5 jc. I went to both their open houses and I feel that the degree of fun and excitement looks around the same, so why not go to a better sch that allows u to have as much fun(: and cus 6 points is exactly on the dot of tj's cop, so u might not get in too, but u can try putting it first choice and if u dun get in, u'll at least go into mj(:hello~
