My kids never cried over having to go Sch. (At least I can't remember).
i told my boy that last time too. when he was in Nursery. :imconstipated:concern2:
Saw a P2 student crying outside school gate, and mom was saying,\"You have no choice. Everyone goes to school, so must you. This is just the beginning - you have many more years of this to go, so get used to it\". :faint: If my mom were to tell me that, I would have wished I was dead.
!
\"cry means no need to go to sch meh?\" :spank:
But when whine over Sch work, Sch teacher etc - I only have one reply. \"Everyone going thru the same things, not just you. So buck up, face it & move on.\" :nunchuk:
And they actually guai guai obey :rotflmao: :rotflmao: -
My kids don’t cry but may be grouchy over having to go to school and will at times complain about it. My usual answer, ‘the law mandates that every kid 7yrs and older have to go to school, no choice. But you have a choice, go to school happy and the day will fly by or go to school unhappy and the day will drag on, you choose.’

Which honey??janet_lee88:
It's Valentine's Day 2moro.
Enjoy yourselves with your loved ones. I'm dreaming of a teapot of chamomile tea with honey now.
-
aiyoh...chamomile by itself is tasteless...adding some honey to it sweetens the taste and calms mood

:goodpost: And I so agree with the highlighted part.

No offence...just saw this.

Stifling education
One very good reason why young Singaporean adults are shunning passing on their DNA is because they don't subscribe to torture: they don't want to bring something into this world so that they can undergo the Singapore system of education.
Imagine telling your flesh-and-blood that his or her worth is dependent on his or her PSLE and 'O' Levels grades.
Not only that, you have to put him or her in a uniform for at least 10 years, tell your brood to throw out-of-the-box thinking out of the window and remind them constantly that they are going to be nothing more than a cog in the economic machine.
And it is all \"for their own good\".
Sounds like the secular version of hell to you already?
Well, it gets better.
Emmm... I dont agree with a single word of the above.
If one doesnt make one's child look and feel like a 'digit', then the child will never feel like a digit.
One is always the originator of happiness or bitterness.
My three kids enjoy schooling coz I have NEVER bugged them over their results (but always am thinking of ways to build their character and resilience as well as self confidence = they will be happy in whatever jobs they will end themselves up to in the future). -

Ya. Kids going to school is their first taste of how life isn't always the way they want it to be, and learning starts young. As a child, I hated it when I did not have a choice, so I would really dread when someone tells me \"You have no choice\". I hated it more when I hear authoritative words like \"because I say so!\" or \"because the law says so!\" Such words brought about the rebellious streak in me, I believe - so I try not to say that to my kids. I would try to explain why they had to do it, and try to channel their thoughts to the positive things about school. 苦口婆心,if they ask me at the time when I am already at my top, I would ask them back - \"why do you have to go to school? You tell me!\"
Test time!
Choices are in one's perceptions. Many of you are right in saying that to make best use of the situation - be happy about it or dread it, you choose. It is, ultimately, a choice that one can make in a \"no choice\" situation. Kids, however, may not know how to do that yet, so I believe we still have to guide them. \"So what are you going to do about it?\" The thought usually carries them far enough to the school gate without another word. Or, like what I told the crying child at the gate - to look for his friends (friends are a safe bet, unless they have difficulties socializing in school, or is the cause of the anxiety).
Despite the fact that my kids don't cry about going to school, DS would ask me from time to time why they had to go to school, why can't they stay at home, why this, why that. And despite the fact that they would probably prefer to do something else other than going to school, they are always happy at the end of each day at school.
That's why parents are the greatest! Let's all celebrate parenthood! The singles don't know what they are missing out on! :siam:

Singles & newly-weds will not understand the stage of parenthood. It is the next stage of life.
Last night, my 13 year old approached me 4 times while I was taking a break (waiting for my washing machine to beep).
*I have stomach ache and in pain…i rubbed oil for him.
*I think it is wind.
*My body is aching…his temperature seemed a little warmer, so gave him a little paracetamol to relieve discomfort.
*Can you write a letter for me to excuse from PE? -
