Are you trying to imply something?

      Learned helplessness......

Nope.. just kinda agree with what you wrote on \"it's all about choice\"..

When pple with big house and big cars complains so much abt financial difficulties in having kids.. (\"learned helplessness\"..?) one just cannot help but wonder how does pple with $1~2k/mth income managed to raise 5 kids..(guess it was reported in the news?)

      Indeed.

Just to air my view, worklife balance is industry centric. Some industries, there is a commitment to deliver on time and numerous last minute work and what not. If I had not quit my job, we would have stop at one. As much as I owe my kid to be a dutiful mum,I owe my bosses to deliver too. Thankfully, my husband job nature is so much different than mine. Going home on the dot is not an issue. But we will stop at two anyway, as with two kids, all three of them are already fighting for my limited time and attention. To have a third one will really have to be accidental. šŸ˜“

            2 or '3' kids? šŸ˜†

Seriously, someone once told me satisfaction is hardly derived from the work place...but from being a mum who brings up the kids to be kind-hearted souls with human values.

My 'factory' is closed for good. Though, I like the smell of a newborn and fondly reminded of my kids when they were babies...sorry to say when the baby is cranky, I will pass her back to her mother.

but 2 extra days leave for kids below 12 is indeed very welcoming.

My company currently extends the 6 days leave for kids below 12. They are doing more than what the government offers. They also have dependent sick leave. I appreciate that gesture.

Frankly 2 days for kids below 12 is insufficient. Eg. meet the teachers session is different days for different kids. So with 3 kids, that is like 3 different days and it is only for 1 term. Kids will also fall sick and parents need to bring them to the doc. Not forgetting... exams... Maybe the government should consider PSLE leave  šŸ¦†

I just delivered my #2 a month ago, so glad that they backdate the package. However, with or without the carrots, I’m stopping at 2 kids. I will not even consider a 3rd one even if they throw in a few thousand more.

Singapore companies may not be that welcoming regarding PSLE leave.
6 days leave is very thoughtful though.
